On December 29th, I purchased Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem! from Best Buy. Also, on January 9th, I purchased Mario Hoops 3 on 3 at Toys R Us (exclusive to the store brand new).
What happened to Okamiden? Checking my amazon history, I bought that game last September for under $18 new, spending more on Heroes of Mana.
(well, at least I'm not one of the 8 people that paid $3000 for a copy. )
My last purchase, Fossil Fighter Champions. I was surprised when Best Buy still had the original in stock but not the sequel. If it was any other store than GameStop, I'd have paid the extra $3 and tax to buy a "new" copy in person than amazon.
(also got Bangai-O for DS. I hear it's not as good as the Dreamcast/N64, but at a tenth the price, why not?)
I was expecting to get Fire Emblem 3DS from GameStop today. The guy said there was a shipping delay and they don't expect it to arrive until Friday.
So I ended up getting Elite Beat Agents (not really a music game fan, but at $10, couldn't pass it up. And at that price, does it matter much whether it's actually "new" (with a faded cover because, from what I heard of its sales numbers, it's probably been there since 2006 ). And a used Devil Survivor 2 for $18 (which it looks like is only an okay price. Looks like amazon's price is $20 new... and $25 used?!)
Just picked up Nostalgia for $15, out of our K-Mart's bargain bin today.
First thoughts: The battle system is your standard turn based RPG fare (not that that's a bad thing, because it's not), and it allows you to see who's move is going to be next (just like FFX), so that allows for some extra straregy. The airship battles, while mostly following the same formula, are different enough to keep things varied. The encounters are random, but there's great spacing between them. The inclusion of real world cities is neat. Info (and a model) of every enemy, character, & airship is stored in your journal (I love it when RPGs add nice touches like this). The world appears to be large. The graphics, while not the best on the system, look good (even on my 3DS).
As for the negative, the story & characters really haven't gripped me, yet.
Oh, I'm also finding the airship battles to be tougher than ground fights (mostly because I occasionally wander off into uncharted skies, & run into enemies way too powerful for me, lol).

Just bought a copy of Impossible Mission. It's a remake of the Commodore 64 classic. You can choose between "new" and "retro" mode. The retro mode looks exactly like on the C64. And you can save your game which makes the impossible mission possible.
Wow, this thread seems rather dead at the moment, but I wanted to update it because I've just ordered a rather new DS game that only came out two years ago, not long before the 3DS came out, I guess you could say it was one of the DS's swansongs. Anyway, I ordered Solatorobo: Red the Hunter, you guys should all know it, but I only just today saw it very cheap online and I decided that $19 NZD for Solatorobo was a great bargain, it's rather hard to find where I live (it was pretty much exclusive to JB Hifi), so finding it at that price was a good find.
Anybody been buying DS games recently? or has everyone all moved on to 3DS? I know I have more or less now, but it's great to find DS games you never considered buying when the DS was dominant, I guess now's just a great time to buy a pretty decent Japanese ARPG.

First off, hurray, someone else bought that game! And secondly, I wish everyone here knew it. With all the 3DS excitement, it kinda fell off the radar.
