Topic: Reasons why you hate the DSi?

Personally, I think the DSi is only useful if you either don't have a DS, or only have the original version.

Just let it happen.

I don't hate it, but I don't bother getting one, the cameras and AAC player is kinda pointless, the only thing I kinda want it for are the bigger screens and clicky buttons, but with the 3DS I ended up just saving my money for that instead.

DSiWare is non-transferable, so if you decide to upgrade and sell your old unit, you have to buy them all over again.

There's one thing I always wonder though: why do people hate the DSi, but not the DS lite? The ds lite just made it smaller with slightly bigger screens and a bigger stylus, but the DSi added more ram, bigger screens, DSiware, a camera [even if it is horrible], a sound app, a real menu, more wifi support, an even bigger stylus, parental controls, and system updates. I know that the DSi took away the gameboy slot, but still, why hate on the DSi?

Just let it happen.

Am I the only one who has actually ENJOYED the camera app?
I found it to be plenty entertaining. Sure, I don't use it much anymore, but I don't think it was a step back...

I'm working on a game that's coming out soon!

@BleachFan888 I really like the camera app. I've used it at times when I normally wouldn't have a camera, and have some great photos of friends. Great meaning ridiculously funny.

I dont have a camera so I also find it very useful. The little ones love messing around with the pics as well.

My dislikes are the 0.3 megapixel camera and the 10 second long recording. Nintendo made this for a re-do of a ds lite. I do like there dsiware tho.

Would you rather not have it at all?

I prefer surfing the web on my DSi Browser than the Wii Browser. I can't stand having to point at the letters on the keyboard with the Wii remote. It takes like 2 minutes to write a sentence! The DSi's touch-screen keyboard is much faster.

Probably. I never bought a DSi and I don't intend to buy a DSi or DSi XL until Nintendo fixes this problem. Without the DSiWare, the DSi offers me very little that I can't get with my DS Lite. Sure, the camera is a nice touch, but it's not enough of a motivation. Now are you going to tell how you change the size of your text or am I gonna have to haul you downtown and sweat it out of you in the interrogation room?

Not sure if you know this, but you can plug a simple USB keyboard into the Wii's USB slots in the back. Makes the Wii browser a thrill to use.

Anyway, the DSi browser is decent considering it's on a dedicated portable gaming device, but terrible by the standards of portable technology. The DSi chokes up on 2MB .gif files and a lot of websites won't even display, such as any photos on Photobucket over a certain size. It's useful, but a little disappointing, especially considering that an 8GB iPod touch has more than 4X the specs for a cheaper price(not that it's a truly fair comparison anyway, like apples and steak). Nintendo could have made it a least capable of running YouTube videos via flash lite, which requires 32MB RAM and it would still have kept cost down reasonably.

Send to nintendo, they will save your data, call nintendo when you get your new console and then they would make a tranfer.

Wii browser runs out of memory faster because it uses flash.

(Sorry about the double post, I'm on my DSi, yet another thing, no copy and paste on the browser )

Hate? Nah. I just don't think it's worth upgrading for.

I don't hate the DSi per se, I just hate that I can't afford it, yet it keeps getting good games released on DSiware, thus tempting me to buy it anyways. I don't hate the DSi, I just hate that it keeps getting good games.

Hilarious video, but if I were you, I'd save such awesomeness for a more extreme case.

@irken004

Gameloft also supports Wiiware, none of which seem at all interesting. Yet that hasn't stopped you from purchasing Wiiware games, has it? Nor have you hated the Wii for allowing such games into its library. Why should it be any different for the DSi? Gameloft is just a company that's trying to make money, like any other good company that has any intention of lasting past its first game. There's honestly nothing wrong with that. Just because their games are there, doesn't mean you have to buy them. So long as you are intelligent and informed enough to stop buying their games, there really shouldn't be any need for you to harbor any hatred towards a system or service for allowing their games to be released on said system or service.

Oh trust me, I know about their games, I even enjoyed Asphalt 4 on DSiware, I just think they should put out a tad more effort into their games.

EDIT That is a funny video actually
