Chech it out!

Yup, everyone's favorite puzzle-solving Englishman is getting his very own movie, entitled Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva.

Honestly, I really don't know what the plot is. The site (www.layton-movie.jp) is entirely in Japanese. Go check it out if you know the language...

So, what does everyone think? Will it be any good? Will it ever be localized? Will it have a game tie-in?

Oh man! I'm going to go to the midnight show!

Edit: I ran it through Google Translator, but it didn't work, the web site was probably made with flash, please be localized!!!

It stands a chance of being localised. The first game has been very succesful and the second one is coming soon so... maybe.

So will I sit in the cinema and the movie doesn't continue until I solved some riddles? If not, I'm not interested...

No, it will skip that in the cinema, but you will every time on the DVD/Blu Ray Player.

This is indeed great news. Hopefully this will pave the way for a animated TV series based on the Professor Layton games.

I also agree that this Professor Layton movie will be localized in not only North America but Europe and the Pacific Islands as well. It would be very foolish to publish the Professor Layton games in the US and Europe only to keep the movies and hopefully comics and animated TV show in Japan only, no, that would not be a wise decision as far as marketing is concerned.

BTW is it possible to buy a brand new copy of Professor Layton for $9.99?

The film would probably be constantly interrupted while the professor stops to solve a puzzle. It certainly wouldn't be high action!

I can read some Japanese, but most of what is on the homepage is just repeated everywhere. Something about a "roadshow" in 2010. It says, "Shyou gatsu" which might mean New Year because it isn't a month.

I can only hope that it's as good as the Animal Crossing movie!
I'm kidding, of course.

Apparently he had the foresight to know you wouldn't like watching HIM solve puzzles, so he specifically says in the trailer, "You will be the ones to solve the puzzle!"

I'm sure they'll be a fan sub as well, (eventually). Even the commercial has English subtitles in it that someone added.
