I must say, this game actually makes me want to read. The story is always great and I love the part where all the suspects are there, and then Chelmey botches it all up, and then Layton solves it all due to a single detail. It's great!

I also think the puzzles are making me smarter. I find myself faring far better in Diabolical Box than in Curious Village. They help you think logically!

I actually can't wait for the next 2...or 4.

If what I read on Wikipedia is true, then all these games will come out within a year or so of each other, and I read they may have already started another trilogy...if I read it right.

Some people probably already noticed some of these things, but it excites me.

I absolutely love these games. Nothing better than finally solving a difficult riddle (without using any hint coins!) that has you stumped. I hope the remaining games get US releases; i don't know how well the Layton games sell here, but i guess good enough to at least warrant a second release, so that bodes well.

And i think some of the puzzles in DIabolical Box are better translated/explained than in Curious Village, which makes them more enjoyable to solve. And maybe it's just me, but it seems that Curious Village had a lot more "trick" riddles (like where there's a whole lot of unnecessary info provided and the answer is actually right in front of you).

Yeah that's true. In the Diabolical Box I always underthink the word puzzles because I think to myself "it has to be a trick!" or something. But there's rarely any trick puzzles in this game, which is good IMO.

These games really are good for your brain, though. And since I've been playing the Diabolical Box I've had a desire to read more mystery books.

Hey I'm hopelessly stuck on a puzzle, want to help? It's the one with the dog, the girl, and the dad. The girl walks for 10 seconds, then puts the dog down, then the dad comes out and the dog runs towards the dad yada yada yada. You know the one? Well I'm totally stuck on it. I've unlocked all the hints and they haven't helped at all.

POTENTIAL PUZZLE SPOILER! POTENTIAL PUZZLE SPOILER! POTENTIAL PUZZLE SPOILER!

Ok.
That one's actually not as hard as it seems. It's not a trick question, but it's one that tells you the info in such a way that it seems complicated. If i remember right, you really only need 2 pieces of info -- the distance between dad and daughter and the rate the dog runs. I think it ended up that the dog runs 5x the distance the dad walks to reach the girl (10 feet, i think), so i believe the answer was the dog runs 50 feet. I may be wrong with the numbers though, but that was the gist of it IIRC.
