I'm planning to get pokemon white two, but I haven't played pokemon white one yet. Would I be fine just to play pokemon white 2 or would there be too much confusion in the events and storyline?

You don't need to play white/ black 1 before you get white/black 2 but it would give more of a background. For example the game makes many mentions to the first one. The only thing i think you would need to know about white 1 before white 2 is who N is and what his role was in white 1 that leads to what it is in white 2. Also there is alder but you don't really need to know him since it explains a fair amount of him in the game.
