So you might have noticed that while the pokemon single player is fun, it's not especially challengeing. Well, for those who would like more of a challenge from their pokemon games and a different way to play the single player, look no further than the nuzlcoke challenge.
This way of playing was created by a webcomic artist called nuzlocke( website here http://www.nuzlocke.com/ ) and its a lot of fun. Everyone who likes pokemon should it least give it a shot.

The Rules
1. You can ONLY catch the first pokemon you encounter in a route/cave/town/area (You get the idea). If you defeat the first pokemon you see, then too bad, your not catching anything from that area. However, you can decide to add a rule that lets you try to catch something else if you have already caught that pokemon.( this is to prevent teams full of rattata and zigzagoon)
2. If a one of your pokemon faints, it is dead and can no longer be used for anything. You have to release it or put it in a pc box for the dead.
3. Nickname your pokemon!
4.If all of your pokemon faint, then it is game over and you have to restart the entire game or create a file on a different game.

These are the only rules you HAVE to follow if you attempt this, though you can add on other rules to make it more difficult(i.e no using pokemon centers, no buying items, battle style on set, ect.) Also, try not to do thing like only use your starter, as that pretty much ruins the whole point of it in the first place.

Feel free to post stories or comics about your adventure. The main site has quite a number of fan comics, so go their if your looking for inspiration. Have fun!

EDIT: If your going to write a run of it, please state what rules you are following before starting. Thank you.

I started a nuzlocke awhile back with the same rules above except for the rule about catching the same pokemon twice (this rule is called the dupe clause by the way). I lost two mons at the same time in the beginning of the game. I have been grinding for a long time to get my team ready for Watson. I don't have anything to counter his magnemite and magneton.

Also:
Starter Pokémon is based off your Trainer ID number. If the last number is 1-3 the player starts with a Grass type, 4-6 is Fire type, 7-9 is Water type, 0 is the player's choice.
A prohibition against voluntarily resetting and reloading the game when things go wrong. Being able to do so would render all of the other rules pointless.

If the player has no Pokémon that can use a certain field move that is required to continue through any given point of the game, they may catch another Pokémon that can learn said field move. However, it cannot be used in battle for any reason, and must be released, permanently boxed, or migrated as soon as the player gets another Pokémon that can use said field move.
I am also using the duplicate clause.

My Party:
Headbutt (Scraggy) lv. 30; Ability: Moxie; Item; Macho Brace
Moves:
Brick Break
Chip Away
Strength
Payback
Oatmea (Trubbish) lv. 30 Ability: Sticky Hold; Item: None
Moves:
Toxic Spikes
Acid Spray
Stockpile
Sludge Bomb
Chirp (Tranquill) lv. 30 Ability:Super Luck; Item: None
Moves:
Air Cutter
Roost
Detect
Quick Attack
Mantis (Leavanny) lv. 30 Ability: Chlorophyll; Item: Miracle Seed
Moves:
Slash
Bug Bite
Razor Leaf
Protect
I am going to try to challenge Elesa without losing any pokemon, and if I could have some tips on what levels my party should be, strategy, ect. I would like to hear them. (I can not catch anymore pokemon)
P.S. Sorry about the long post.

I beat Elesa with no deaths, and then caught two new pokemon. I had overtrained my pokemon for the last gym so I decided to challenge Clay without training. I lost all of my party... except for one pokemon: Chirp (Unfezant). I am now at chargestone cave, and I caught a new pokemon there, Gnaw (Joltik). Gnaw is currently level 29, and Chirp is now level 37.

Yes I'm doing a nuzlocke challenge on my game. My rules are pretty much standard exept on white 2 I made a no buying Pokeballs of any sort,no using legends period unless they are shiny, dream radar poke cannot be used exept for the first tranfers and thats it. You may not save the game at all unless required such as when you use gts. Traded pokemon cannot be used unless nicknamed or shiny. Cannot use join avenue to raise stats or level. Battle box pokemon for online play cannot be used for regular play. You may not use egg pokemon unless they are shiny, and finally you may only let your starter evolve.
