Even if Pokemon is somewhat repititive, I still love it. The only generation I did not care for is Generation III, the rest were awesome though. Pokemon is just so addictive, I STILL play HeartGold from time to time.

I am, however, utterly bored with Mario now. The New Super Mario Brothers Wii was good, but I only played it once and not touched it since.

So, I take it you did not play Super Mario Galaxy 2?

Yeah, see if you're going to criticise a entire series of games for being derivitive, you probably shouldn't use a glorified expansion pack as an example on how to do things right.

Yes, I played SMG2. No, I didn't find it revolutionary. It played like a sequel. Like SMG, in fact. Which is cool, but I'm not the one criticising a Pokemon game for not suddently turning into a Final Fantasy clone.

Yeah, (I'm gonna get killed for this) I don't think the SMG games are that good.

Explorers of Time/Sky almost made me cry.

I like the PMD games very much! I got all hyped up in the Red/Blue Rescue Team when the rescue teams hunted you down! ADRENALINE RUSH!!

I agree with both of you there! When I played through Blue Rescue Team and GENGAR turned the other Pokemon against my team, I was panicking a little bit! I remember running for my virtual HP through Lapis Cave, not knowing what was happening or where the plot was going to take me! And when I finished Explorers of Time and I vanished from the world...I really felt my partner's pain and sorrow. Then, when Dialga brought me back...

My views do not reflect those of MetalMario, ssbbrawler08, or any persons affiliated with Nintendo or The Pokemon Company International. They're my own thoughts. No really, they are!

Saying pokemon is repetitive is like saying bread has crusts and humans have arms and legs.

i liked the first one, (replayed it once) then the second one less, then i didnt buy the third one.
although the story is different the core aspect of the game was the same. just like the other pokemon games.

just for the record i was and am a big pokemon fan. i know the name of every pokemon, theyre type, what moves they can learn, when they evolve, etc.
but ive spent over 700 hours total playing those games! i know what will happen, but just in a new area with more of the sme pokemon with a couple extras that are just copies of the first. crossing my fingers for a change in black and white

I think it makes a great example because it improved on the first game's mechanics and nearly outdid Ocarina of Time in terms of reception

Congratulations, you have discovered the secret of every video game ever made. Games are repetitive in themselves, let alone an entire series with an enormous established fan base who are expecting the same formula and would flip out if it were to dramatically change. I actually am getting tired of the same old thing in Pokemon games, yet I come back for more. It doesn't make any sense what so ever for the developers to drastically change the series. Black and White versions look promising though, with the changes announced so far.
