Doesn't matter what it's called, it could be Pokemon 1 and 2 and the general public will still eat it up.

I will agree that Nintendo or Gamefreak could have used a better name...it seems a tad bit lazy.
Also...wasn't there a Pokemon Black on the original gameboy?I think it was a card trading game.....
Well thats what I remember when my friend told me that about 8 years ago. lol

That was Pokemon Trading Card Game, came on a black GBC-enabled cartridge. That was a lot of fun; I wonder where my copy is? Hmmm....

Oh guess that explains why it was nick-named Pokemon Black around my time. lol
I hope the art style is better in these new games though. And give in better animations on the Battles as they still kinda look GBA-ish...

There goes my elemental names Opal and Amethyst....
Then again, I want them to add Pokewalker functionality to this version.
And couldn't they wait until the 3DS news at E3?

Frankly, this is one series that I don't want to change to appeal to more people. I like it the way it is: easy to play, hard to master.
Just let it happen.

the S.S. Racist.
What if that was the new boat in the game? XD

One thing I don't want them to do is model the whole game in 3D. That is, I've no problem with the 3D overworld (it looks pretty fantastic in a lot of places in HGSS), but keep the battles sprite-based. What they really do need to do though is completely overhaul how a battle flows. By which I mean, currently the following happens, one at a time:
It's so slow and sluggish and reeks of a time on the Game Boy when it could only handle one thing at a time. Let's have it much, much more dynamic. Run the text at the same time as the animation, instead of these 'battle echoes' (you see what happens, and then the game tells you about it again in the text). How about making that HP bar have a drop speed in relation to how much damage is caused? Because at the moment, you can deliver a move that OHKO's a Blissey (with up to 714HP), and almost literally have enough time to go make a coffee before the HP bar has finished emptying.
I adore Pokémon, I'm obsessed with Pokémon, HeartGold hasn't left my DS since I bought it and it probably won't for a long while yet, and no matter what they do in Black and White I'll snap one of them up the moment it hits the shops, but please GameFreak, let's make the battle interface a little more up-to-date.

Why all the America hate? From what I've seen, "racism" or more importantly PERCEIVED RACISM is like 98% (mis)interpretation and MAYBE 2% fact. There are certain people who will ALWAYS throw up the race card no matter what is said or done, just because they feel as if the whole world owes them something.Besides, Pokemon can't be racist. They're too cute and innocent!Political correctness FTL. For the record, I am a parent and I live in America. Where are these 1000's of signs of racism all over the place? Name 5?I could see this thread being closed quickly....

Depends on where you live. I still see a lot of racism.

I'm black (mixed race if you want to get technical) and I see nothing offensive or even remotely racist about this. We had Black and White films and people wouldn't think those are racist. ffs people
I'm glad they've gone for simpler names this time, as I do like how they kept the colours simple with the original set of games. It would be quite hard to top Diamond, Pearl and Platinum without it getting ridiculous (Imagine getting Pokemon Rhodium).

I want The battle animation to still go if it misses but the Pokemon sprite doges it.

Black and White? Racist... not really for me. I'm getting a picture of newspapers instead. They're black and white.
The name is just affiliated with in-game... stuff. You might be surprised it will turn out with light and dark qualities in the Pokemon themselves. Maybe we'll get Pokemon Yoda and Pokemon Darth Vader. snigger

There is a lot of talk on this thread on the Serebii Forums that the new Legendaries will be based on the Yin and Yang thing. If they do, I would love to see a sequence when someone explains their whole story, and it's in the cartoon style of the sequence in HeartGold and SoulSilver when Arceus gives you Dialga, Palkia, or Giratina. That would be awesome.

Well, if these games were in development for a while. It was probablly before the 3DS was development ready.
