I've decided to post my list of the names I (do/would) use for my PCs and their rivals in the Pokemon RPG series:

I use either my real name, Jonas, or as of late when it comes with online play, my screen name, KoKoO_Psy. My original Red version I called myself JONTRE because I didn't wanna use my real name, and i didn't have a screen name when I was 8, so I made something up.
I have the tendancy to use female characters when giving the chance (which makes me the unfair butt of a lot of jokes), so all of my names are for female trainers. Whenever I use a male, I just use my name, so that's not very interesting anyway. I'll start with Ruby, since I don't remember what I named people before then (though it was probably ASH and GARY):
Ruby: Player: Sami
FireRed: Player: Cass Rival: Gary
Emerald: Player: Sami (Again)
Platinum (My Diamond names are boring and I wish I could change them) Player: Amy Rival: Paul (Believe it or not, I didn't get the name from the anime. I wanted something similar-sounding to Pearl that was actually a real name.)
SoulSilver: Player: Toss up between Jenna/Sylvia Rival: Not sure. Probably something Italian-sounding since its starting to look like this rival is the son of Giovanni.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
Why did they get rid of Kris for the remakes, yet still keep the original Gold and Silver? That is, the trainer Gold and his rival Silver, not the games Ah, never mind...
By the way, does anybody know why I picked the names Tarkin and Ginny for the male and female trainer, respectively? Here's a hint: Tar-KIN GIN-ny In Japanese, Kin is gold and Gin is silver! Bet you didn't know that (if you don't know the Japanese language past 'sakuranbo' )
Today's assignment: Translate 'sakuranbo' into English! Five gold stars if you get it right! Actually, I could use the translation as the FireRed or LeafGreen female's name...wow...

I always use the names of my Pokemon characters in my very own Pokemon series of stories I like writing; yes I like writing stories & I like Pokemon that much to do so! The Pokemon story series I've been writing is about me & my friends having our own Pokemon journeys; & eventually growing up & having a crossover Yu-Gi-Oh story but in my own Pokemon style!
I always use my real name in my Pokemon games I play; my name is Joshua! Other names I use for the main character are the friends & family I have as my characters in my Pokemon series: Zack being my cousin, Matt was my high school friend, Lindsey my old girlfriend in Middle School, & Sara my old swing dancing friend!
For rivals I usually pick one of those names to go with mine; or if I'm using one of their names I use mine as the rivals! Other than that I also use the names Darik (my Pokemon version of Marik from Yu-Gi-Oh), & Vekura (my Pokemon version of Bakura from Yu-Gi-Oh)! Other than the handheld games I use these names for my Pokemon Colosseum game on the GameCube!
Trivia: my Vekura name was inspired my merging the personalities & hair style's of Baruka with Vegeta of Dragonball Z! Sounds majorly cool huh?!
