I'm just curious, if any of you already own a DSi, and are planning on purchasing a DSi XL, what will you do about the DSiWare situation?
The way I see it, there are three options:
1. Don't buy a DSi XL.
2. Get a DSi XL, use it for playing DS carts on those huge screens, keep playing previously purchased DSiWare on the regular DSi, and keep purchasing further DSiWare on the same regular DSi.
3. Get a DSi XL, use it for playing DS carts on those huge screens, use regular DSi for playing all previous purchased DSiWare, but purchase all further DSiWare on the DSi XL.
I wish Nintendo would invest some of that $$$ into a better online service. It'd be so simple to let us transfer our purchases to a new system. Anyway, if you do have a DSi with lots of DSiWare, which of the above is your plan? Basically I don't know whether to keep buying my DSiWare on the single regular DSi, or move onto my XL. Either way, I won't be getting rid of my regular DSi.
That's one of the reasons I won't be upgrading to the XL. Another reason is that the DSi isn't even a year old yet, and Nintendo really shouldn't have put out another model so quickly.
If I were you, I would just save your money for something else.

I personally don't care about arguments i mean i want a DSi XL just for collecthing it and the minor upgrade plus my original DSi DSiWare library i'll transfer them via SD Card, see problem solved.
I see the DSiXL as a degrade instead of a upgrade, simply because it won't fit in my pocket anymore. For that reason alone I wouldn't get the XL version.

@Rhansley64-- You can't copy any DSiWare game to another DSi system--the game will only play on the system it was downloaded on.
If you are referring to the Japanese DSi XL don't try to compare it since we don't know if NOA and NOE decide to change the DSiWare Lockout yet or have plans to transfer your DSiWare account in a new system, plus even if they don't include it i could care less since i want more battery life (i know DS lite has the most but i'm comparing DSi with DSi XL), bigger screen and a bigger unit in general.

They are definitely going to lock it out, since all Wiis do that and without it there would be a lot of pirating.
I'm pretty okay.

Ehh, the only way Nintendo is going to do that is if you send them your broken DSi and your XL and have them transfer it. You will most definitely not be able to transfer them to another system via SD card.

I honestly would upgrade to a DSi XL if it weren't for the lack of DSiWare transfer. I mostly play my DSi at home and when I do take it anywhere I put it in a bag so the size doesn't bother me, and if the screens are half as good as people say they are then I would like it. If it drops in price I may still get one and just put up with the fact that I'll have to keep my old DSi for playing DSiWare on.

I've been holding off on purchasing any more games ever since I heard about the XL. Purchased games are locked to the system ID, too bad they don't have a removable ID card in their systems that you can pull out and plug into another.
It just SUCKS waiting to hear the USA release date!!! come on Nintendo!!! the first quarter is ending soon!
Yeah, I thought Nintendo transferred DSiWare information if you send both your old and new one in. Maybe they'll have some kind of offer or system for transfers going once the handheld is released. I totally agree Nintendo could step up their online services in several ways. We can hope!
I see the XL as a concurrent edition of the DSi intended for a different audience. It's not as portable (though still manageable if you have a bag or something) and the screens are not going to be as clear due to their size. I really can't complain about it because it doesn't make the DSi redundant in any way, and doesn't offer anything I would need over my DSi. Just because it's newer doesn't mean it's better (or even much different). I think it's mostly for armchair gamers, people who experience discomfort due to large hands, and middle- to old-aged players.
I do own a DSI now and im still goin get the DSI XL still i just give my husband my DSI and we both can play game together since i dont know anyone who own a DSI around me. It may be to soon for it to come out but thats what Nintendo do. Cant wait and hopin they do say when it will be release for USA soon.
I'm thinking of upgrading because I'd like the larger screens for my old eyes. I'm really enjoying Art Academy and would lovethe larger screens. But until they come out with some new colours, I'm gonna wait. I hate the colours they come in.

There is a good chance that we will get different colors. The USA color hasn't been announced yet as far as I know.
No way in this world am I upgrading to another DS. I love my DSi and no reason to upgrade again near the end of the systems lifecycle. Ill grab one years down the road on the cheap to add to my collection.
