I own Pokemon Diamond and I was got caught the three Legendary Beings Pokemon Mesprit, Azelf, and Uxie and I looking up how to catch Regigigas next. But, they say in order to get it. You must transfer your Regirock, Regice, and Registeel from your past games which are the Gen III games to the Gen IV games; Diamond/Pearl. But, I had already transfer them from Pokemon Gen III games to Pokemon White to Pokemon Y. WTF? Why should you used your past games in order to get Regigigas? Also, when I first grew up watching Pokemon. The phrase was "Gotta catch 'em all". But, seeing Game Freak did something like this was a huge freaking lie. Why can't you catch all the Legendary Pokemon of the current Pokemon Gen games in 3 versions? Plus, to make matters worst, you can't even get Shaymin, Arceus and Darkrai in the Gen IV games without going through an event that doesn't exist anymore. This is some freaking bullship!

Because back then the gen 3 -> gen 4 transfer was the cool new idea and they decided it would be cool to do it like this?

Since then regigigas has been made available in various other ways because gen 3-caught Pokemon aren't as easily available as they were back then. When the gen 3 -> gen 4 transfer was the cool new idea and anyone could easily do it.

Welcome to the scam that is Pokemon. Ha. Ha. Ha.

This is nothing new for them, even the first generation games had exclusive Pokemon you had to get through trading or buying both copies. They even had event Pokemon, namely Mew, but you could get it through a glitch as well.

The "gotta catch em all" catch phrase is more for the anime, which came after the games, so, Game Freak technically did nothing wrong. Even the anime lies, Ash barely catches any Pokemon, other than the 5 or 6 he uses in each region. Only in Pokemon Origins does Red actually complete the Pokedex, bar Mew.

Well, that sucks if your a Pokemon fan and your not allowed to catch all the Pokemon of the current generation in Pokemon version games and through trading in one game. Especially, the legendary Pokemon that can only be obtained through temporary events of that game.

@LinkxPeach Between XY and ORAS you can catch all Pokemon up to that point. All within 1 generation.

And if you want a Regigigas you can get one in Black and White 2, ORAS or Ultra Moon

Why are you complaining about a game that was released more than 10 years ago?

@LinkxPeach If we get a bit technical, event-only Pokemon are not legendary, and considered mythical. But that's really getting overly-technical. Also, event-only Pokemon are not needed to "officially" complete the Pokedex, at least up to generation 6 (not sure about 7). You can get the Shiny Charm and certificate thing without event-only Pokemon.

It does suck that they locked some legendary Pokemon like Regigigas. Even stranger, in Heartgold/Soulsilver, you need an Arceus to unlock Dialga, Palkia or Giratina. But the only way to get Arceus is through events, which locks access for a lot of people. They really didn't think these things through xP

But then again Dialga, Palkia and Giratina are the flagship legendaries of the main games of that generation. So they were plentiful.

The HGSS event was more of a nice little extra. After all, level 1 legendaries are always cool.

Because I figure out that online that in order to get Regigigas in Pokemon Diamond/Pearl. You need to transfer Regirock, Regice, and Registeel from the Gen III games to the Gen IV games. Plus, I had already transfer those three legendary golems to Pokemon Heartgold to Pokemon White to Pokemon Y.

At least it's something you can still do. It could be like... The Pikachu forest on the PokeWalker... Or getting the other Lati in HGSS.

Ah, I remember the PokeWalker accessory! I took it with me to Disney World one time and logged nearly 20,000 steps in Magic Kingdom alone. I think I still have it somewhere, actually....That thing got a TON of use, both legit and not so legit.

I'd chime in on the original point of the topic, but I think others have covered everything quite well.

@LinkxPeach Like others have said, it was the big new feature with the games. As for Shaymin and Darkrai if you think timed events were new in the 4th generation games, I got some bad news for you: Mew. Event only in Red and Blue(excluding obtaining it via a glitch). Celebi Pokemon G/S/C. And Mew, Celebi, Jirachi in R/S/E/FR/LG. The trend has continued to this day. And I have played since R/B and trust me, I don't like it either.

Well, that sucks. If that is true, then the actual anime show needs to stop lying to kids that you can collect all Pokemon of the current generation using the phrase "Gotta catch 'em all!"

@LinkxPeach It's very much true. Mythical Pokemon have always been part of that. And gotta catch 'em all as a slogan was retired back during Gen III, and was only ever a thing in the west.
