The fact that 3DS games cannot be played on a DS surely shows they are different systems.

That's now what he... Are you... No.

Just for you.

It might've been a good idea a couple of years ago, but now that the 3DS is starting to hit its stride and many of the games that would've been part of a Player's Choice/Nintendo Selects line stayed in print throughout most of its lifetime or are still readily available (I think New Super Mario Bros. and Mario Kart DS are still the two best-selling DS games at Amazon), it wouldn't serve much purpose.

I do not think you are stupid but I think you are misunderstanding. The difference between an DS and an 3DS is like saying the difference between an PS1 and an Wii. Watch this video:

You think that the DS could ever make these beautiful graphics, even the Wii would cost too much work to play this.
What you're saying is like saying the PSVita is an PSP with two analogues.

I think the best time would have been in about 2009, but I wouldn't say that now is a particularly bad time either. With the 3DS increasingly taking over, Nintendo Selects could be a way to highlight some of the best games on DS (which are, after all, playable on 3DS). It would also be a golden opportunity for Nintendo to update some of the games' Wi-Fi options and make them compatible with WPA encryption like Pokemon Black/White.

I still don't see it happening though!

I go by Lin1876 everywhere in games, so keep an eye out for me!
