Do you think that the DS will have the "Nintendo Selects" just like the Wii?

I thought it already did. O_o I remember seeing in a Gamestop Mario Kart, Mario Party DS, and Super Mario 64 in red cases.

That's just for helping people to locate Mario DS games. Not actual Nintendo Selects (no discounts).

i hope they do but i doubt as the DS is on the way out and the Wii hasn't been replaced by the next console Wii U yet
looking forward to Yoshi's Woolly World, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Fossil Fighters Frontier, Story of Seasons and Kirby & the Rainbow Curse.

It would be nice if they re-released some of their older DS games, like M&L: Partners in Time, Advance Wars: Dual Strike, Kirby: Canvas Curse, Metroid Prime: Hunters, etc. The list could go on for a while.

I agree with mumof2kids82. I guess Nintendo considers DS games as cheap games that don't need to be discounted. Mario Kart DS and Pokemon Diamond and Pearl still retail at $30+. If there would be Nintendo Selects for DS, they should have been out at the same time, or even sooner as the DS is actually older than the Wii.
I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.

I was kinda annoyed that Nintendo didn't come out with a Player's Choice line earlier in the Wii's lifespan. I think this would have helped boost software sales and led to less whining about people having nothing to play on Wii.
As for the DS it would be nice if they did this for some of their games or made some bundle cartridges, like some that were made for the GBA. I wouldn't mind buying a cart with 2-3 Kirby games on it or something.

How is the DS on the way out? All the 3DS is is an upgrade of the DS line. Its not like its a totally different line like the GBA to DS.

with the price drop on the 3DS it might end up being on its way out.....All i'm saying that Nintendo is not going to be making games for the DS much longer. Everyone is talking about the DSes' swan song, not just me. I'm just saying from a business standpoint it makes no sense for them to release a select line for the DS

That'd be nice. I missed out some of DS's earlier titles. Maybe they'd finally re-release Electroplankton too (but probably not)

But the 3DS is a DS. Thats like saying the DS was on its way out when the DSi came out. The 3DS plays the DS games. The only difference between a game with the 3DS logo on it and a DS game is that the 3DS one makes use of the 3D ability. Its not like its a totally different system its just an upgrade thats all.
I mean yeah they may discontinue the DS lite and DSi but I dont think they will get rid of the DS games many people still plan to purchase them so they can play them on their 3DS.

@Tasuki the DS could play gab games and was still a diffrent system. You can't play 3ds games on the ds because the 3ds has far more grpahical power than the ds. the 3ds is not a continuation of the ds line, its more like how the ps2 had an upgrade to the ps3. They are just using the name to sell more units like the gameboy advance used the original gameboy.

i just think that the nintendo select line isn't going to come to the DS.

@Tasuki Umm....3DS is an entirely different console than DS lite or DSi. Like the WiiU is to Wii. Or GBA was to GBC.
Still rockin' the GameBoy brick. Yes, I do believe it's portable. It fits in my satchel.

I dont know just seems like an upgrade to me thats all. BTW the Wii U seems like an upgrade as well and I did consider the GBA an upgrade as well. Its Kinda like cars for example a 64 Mustang and a 2011 Mustangs are both consider Mustangs just the 2011 model is an upgrade. Now a Mustang and a Firebird for example are entirely different.
The 3DS and the DS are the same thing just upgrades the are not entirely different consoles. Now a 3DS and a GBA those are different consoles from each other and the 3DS is not an upgrade of the GBA.

The fact that 3DS games cannot be played on a DS surely shows they are different systems.
