Hi - I just bought a used Nintendo ds lite, I was just signing up to find out what the best games are and what types of games i can buy for this device, Is it true gameboy advance games work for the lite?
Hello. Congratulations getting the DS lite, that is one of my favorite Nintendo handhelds. In addition to the New Super Mario Bros which I enjoyed quite a bit (I know everyone has their favorites) but I really enjoyed the strategy games on the DS like Advance Wars (there are two, I like them both) and another puzzle/strategy game called Clash of Heroes.
I think the DS lite works with the Gameboy Advance games--is there a slot at the bottom? I might be mistaken about this, but I'm pretty sure it does.
The DS Lite will play DS and GBA games, but not 3DS games. See if you can find any of the Pokemon games - I'd recommend Black2/White2 or HeartGold/SoulSilver. You won't need a memory card as all the games save their data on their cartridges.
EDIT: You can find this site's best rated DS games here and best rated GBA games here.
Thanks for replying Ben - I havent actually recieved it yet as i only just won it on ebay! But ive seen others listings selling gameboy advance games and they say they can be used on the lite.
I can wait to get this and play the old games i used to play on the snes!!!
@Jamie1993 If that's a bit big for you than don't bother looking around for a case that holds your DS, DS games, AND GBA games. That's near the best you're gonna get. Besides, it's made by Power A, who is a great case making company. If I were you I would spring for that case. (Or you know, something similar.) Bear in mind this is coming from a person who has had 7+ years of experience with the DS. Otherwise I wish the best of luck to you finding one that suits your needs. (That was not sarcastic FYI)
My DS Lite still gets regular use. Don't ignore the two Zelda DS games (Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks), and I thought Kirby Canvas Curse was simply awesome. Be careful buying popular used DS games, especially online, there are a LOT of bootleg copies out there.
For GBA games, I still play Chu Chu Rocket (it includes a ton of fan-made levels from the original Dreamcast version) and a handful of others. I still haven't played through Zelda Minish Cap - it's been sitting in my case of GBA games for years. I need to fix that soon!

USBs? Car chargers? Stylus's? All you need is a system and games and maybe ear buds. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Executive-Case-Nintendo-3DS-/37127442...
Here have this. It's super small, holds 3 DS games, can hold 1 or 2 GBA games on the bottom, can also hold ear buds, holds an extra stylus, the system, and looks perfect for work. I have it, and it gets 5 stars.
