I just read these news and I'm kind of suprised. Nintendo is going to release 100 classic books in one cartdrige. Is coming out on the 13th of June. I wasn't that impressed but when I discover the price (20 bucks in amazon) I think is a good deal (if you like to read of course) _ Here you have the official link but it doesn't explain that much http://www.100classicbooks.com/
You mean that thing is still not out in the US? I thought it was. Maybe the American folks I know who have it bought it as an import? Anyway, I quite like the collection. I've read several of the books (though at the minute I'm more wrapped up in playing a game).

I think it's a very good idea and a very good value. While I'm pretty sure they're public domain books, they all probably cost at least $10 each, so even if you only read 2 or 3 of the 100 books you'd still probably get your money's worth. But that's just me.
The Wifi connection allows you to download a few additional books, as well as share your personal rankings for the series with the world, and download the collected ranking list, so you can see which are the more popular books.
It's not a bad package. Reading text on the DS/ DSi is not ideal - in fact it's worse than even reading on an iPhone/ iPad, and I recommend for anyone genuinely interested in a e-reader to buy an e-reader - they're genuinely good. But, if you've only a passing interest in books, then this'll do.
I'm looking forward to this release. This was another reason why I decided to get the DSi XL over the original DSi. I hope they used this time to make improvements.
This looks like a bit of a ripoff. They are really charging $20 for 100 free public domain books? I'd rather just spend that money on a flash cart, and load up a homebrew ebook reader.
Oh, and apparently, almost a quarter of them are Shakespeare "books".

If you buy a Penguin edition of each book you're looking at a couple hundred dollars.
What the hell is with the "books" comment RE: Shakespeare. Almost all of his books are utter classics, and everyone should be reading them in some format.

This.
Although, he may have just meant that they're not "books" inasmuch as they're plays. Semantics.
So on their website for the title it says that they have a extra 10 books available to DL to your Nintendo DS system at no charge for anytime use. Does anybody know how how it takes to DL one of this books?

About 20 seconds on a normal connection. The books are under 1MB in size.
@R-L-A-George: the Shakespeare plays included in this collection are usually taught in schools... i know Waldenbooks has a section of their stores (or at least the stores near me) that contains books for local kids' school reading lists -- i've had to buy books from that section myself before. i'd assume Borders and Barnes and Noble would have similar sections. those plays shouldn't be that hard to find... try asking around. :3
BEST THREAD EVER future of NL >:3
