Topic: New Goldeneye coming to DS as well as Wii

So I was browsing the official site for the new Goldeneye game: http://www.goldeneyegame.com/ and I was surprised to see the Nintendo DS logo at the bottom of the screen! Also, if you click "Game Overview," you'll see there's a section labeled "NDS," but it says "Coming Soon." I suppose we'll have to see what that version looks like.

Maybe we'll get the original for the DS.

I hope so; personally, the Wii version looks terrible.

That would be cool, except I think Rare still has the rights to the original game. Activision would have to painstakingly redo everything in the exact same fashion as the original game.

the only problem i can foresee with that, however, is that the 4-up multiplayer would be nearly impossible, and i did so love watching people stumble upon my hidden mines >:3

How would that be impossible? Didn't Modern Warfare Mobilized have a high player cap for a DS game? Or did I just misread that?

@SilverBlacktail: the multiplayer in the N64 version showed all four displays on the same screen... that's what i mean by '4-up'. that area is a little small for a DS game... wouldn't be much fun :/

Ah, I see. Wouldn't that mean everyone would have to be playing on one DS, though?

@SilverBlacktail: ... as i said before, part of my joy in playing the original was being able to watch other players stumble across mines i'd laid using the hidden mine trick -- i'd keep an eye on their part of the screen and wait for it to happen. probably wouldn't be able to do that in the DS version, not unless i was watching over their shoulder or something, as surely they wouldn't do a 4-up multiplayer where you could see their screens -- it'd be too small :/

@tbd: DS screen-cheating. Ha. That would be interesting. My personal favorite thing to do was dual-wielding Klobbs and cornering people, then unloading on them. But yeah, you wouldn't see it happen, but at least you could hear the other players say "WTF just happened!?!?!?" That would give you some sort of satisfaction, right?

I'll probably go with the Wii version too. My DS won't hook up online, and I want local multiplayer.

no. multiplayer would be pretty much dead to me without the added fun of everyone yelling at one another for glancing at each other's screens or without being able to distract someone with a 'hey, look what just happened there' and then taking them out, lol :3

Yeah for 3DS I will buy it but for DSi nah...
