Topic: My DSi XL turns off every time I press Up + Right

Hello, everyone! This is my first post here, and unfortunately it's about a defective DSi XL.

Several months ago (maybe six already) my DS, safe inside its sorta hard carrying case, fell from my lap when getting out of a car. I cursed a bit, but it seemed to be fine.
Later on it started turning off randomly, or so I thought. I related that issue with the console falling, but maybe that's when I noticed it (I bought it complete, almost new, barely used; it certainly looked new when I got it). It was very annoying, but sometimes many plays passed before it turned off again, so I didn't know what to make of it.
The thing is a few weeks ago, playing Contra 4, it started doing it a lot and I noticed a pattern which I tried to replicate with success: every time I press Up and Right (diagonally to the top right, let's say) is when the console turns off. If I hit each direction in a very fast sequence it's alright, nothing happens. It's when I press them at the same time (like when trying to shoot diagonally in Contra 4, which happens a lot) it powers off instantly, and this happens everywhere, no matter the game or if you've just turned the DS and haven't even started a game.

I'm thinking it's probably a short circuit issue caused by the fall, but it's weird. I assumed these handhelds were very sturdy. Anybody know of this problem in particular and know a way to solve it (other than finding a technician to check it out for me, of which I know zero right now).

Anyways, thanks in advance for any comments!
