My Cousin is Planning on Buying an... iPod Touch because she wants to listen to music and play games..i keep convincing her on buying a DSi because it's cheaper and could do a lot more..she is decided to buy the iPod Touch..
well she doesnt know what she's missing right?..
and her priority on buying it is mostly the games!..

Besides, iPod Touch is also very good for gaming.

@DeathWatch: If you were comparing it to the PSP, yeah. But against the DS........no chance (I like the PSP, I just think it fails to the DS and is slightly better than iPT).

The DSi is better for gaming, especially if she doesn't have a DS Fat or Lite. If she does, then definitely go iPT, DSi isn't that big of an upgrade. But if she doesn't have any form of DS, its up to her. The DS is better for gaming, but IPT is better as a personal multi-purpose device (it has a hell of a lot more).

if she buys the DSi..
it would be her first..so the best decision is to buy the DSi

If she wants downloadable, cheap games, she is better off with an iPod. DSiWare looks pretty bad right now. iPod doesn't have such a bad library of games.

If she gets iPT at least she can pick up FF Crystal Defenders all in one package.

Stop trying to convince her otherwise, what she wants is what she wants! But in her situation I say get a I-Pod Touch, the are really great. There are tons of apps that are free that she can download on to it and its a much easier to use music player than the DSi. The I-Pod Touch also has a library of games that DSiWare could never touch. Most from people who don't want to support a Nintendo console or have too low of a budget to put it on a major companies service other than Apple. It really is a more useful machine than Video Game system. For example I've used mine to get directions to do different places as well as watch Youtube movies, things that the DSi can't do. No offense to the DSi, her situation seems to be most likely to benefit from the I-Pod Touch, and if she wants a DS, buy a cheap used one, that way she can still play DS games.

i won't try to convince her then..i just hope she knows what shes doing..i convinced her based on her current state because she really needs a camera(she doesnt care about the quality as long as its decent) and to play games..she enjoyed playing rhythm heaven in my Lite though..lolz..

She should get a DSi, pretty much anything you can do on the iPod Touch you can do on the DSi, and more!

I hate apple and have never owned any of there 'user-friendly' crud.

But we must thank apple though, for inventing 'the app'. Awesome!

That touch is a first generation which ironicly it's what I am currently using to type all of this in.
The second generation has a silver lining.
Thing is a DS lite is even cheaper than a DSi so she could cobine the cost of a DS lite with an inexsensive camera & the 2 things she wants is there just unforntually it lacks any AAC music playing that way.

The ipod touch while it's not a bad choice for gaming but it's not really a gamers system.
While there are some gems you can download like Wolfenstein 3d Pinball dreams & Slotz to name a few but there are a fair more games for the DS that are good.
