Two new colors for the Nintendo DSi will arrive later this week in North America. This announced from Nintendo via twitter. What do you think?

I think it's a bit late.

Nintendo loves to milk dat cash cow.
Heck I think these colours are already available in the UK.

I can see this being great for the rabid nintendo fan, but don't you think the average consumer and/or gamer has moved on from the DS? I mean I still buy DS software from time to time, but I never invest my money in buying the actual consoles, plus there is the 3DS out and the XL not too far away either, they both play DS games, so I don't see why nintendo want/should have to make new colours when the release schedule is looking pretty dry, the only major titles to come out from here on out are Pokemon Black 2/White 2.

@RetroGBHippie92 It's probably just to make a quick buck off unsuspecting consumers who don't realise that this is old technology and completely inferior to the 3DS.
I can see a lot of parents just seeing that there's new DS colours and buying one for their unfortunate children.

I see what you mean, hopefully nintendo will lower the price down, but here they've been pretty much the same price since they came out, like most hardware and first party software.

they are 99 dollars now. I think they are aiming toward people who don't have a lot of disposable income but want to buy their kids a DS system

Like mumof2kids02 said, it's a nice investment for those who can't afford a 3DS. With the drop of DS prices, the games will follow suit. Maybe not immediately, but in ample time. So this can be a nice investment for those who wont be buying a 3DS for a few years.

IMO I think this is a little late in the DSi life span to be releasing new colors but than again Nintendo has done this in the past, remember the redesigned NES late in the NES lifespan?

If its lower in price its not so bad as like some of you said its great for people who dont have the money to afford a 3DS cause the DS has a great library of games both retail and DSiware. But honestly I just see it as Nintendo milking their cash cow.
