It was one of the most boring RPGs I played, Bar none. I was so disappointed, it seemed like it could've been good fun, but the elongated pacing, lame dialogue, standard story, and sub-standard gameplay ruined it for me.
I can remember when I saw the game at Target bundled with Deal or No Deal as one of those 2-random-games-for-the-price-of-1 packs they had.
Was the game really that bad?
I similarly passed up Nights Wii when Best Buy wanted to clear it out bundled with Barbie and one other little girl game, Strawberry Shortcake maybe?

This. I wouldn't call the story standard as much as weak and anti-climatic. I think the look of the game (from what I remember), a couple of songs, and the one robot character were pretty much the only parts of the game that were any good.
I got Contact around the same time, and despite nearly half of the game being awful grinding, it was still better than Magical Starsign simply because there was a real sense of ambition and interest and ideas and real potential etc.
