Topic: Looking for a lengthy game (DSiWare standards)

I've checked through many reviews, but it seems like you certainly get what you pay for on DSiWare. Yes, there are many good games but they are either short or rely on replay value (repetition). I'm looking for a game that I could pour maybe a few hours into, something unlike Aura-Aura Climber, Pyoro, ArtStyle, Game and Watch, Army Defender, PaperPlane, etc. I own and like those games, but I'm looking for something different, which may or may not exist. Preferably not Mario VS DK or Dark Void 0 if you please. That Dragon Quest game looks somewhat interesting, but I'm wary of spending without a few 'confirmations.'

Any recommendations?

Rayman-(800 NP) Its a full port from the console version. NL didnt think to highly of it though. However I would recomend it for its length and difficult.
Starship Defense(500 NP) An Awesome strategy game with 20 stages. it has a high replay value because on every stage you get bonus points for how will you perform. Perfects(not letting any enemy escape) and No S.O.S. used( not using any special power-ups) will keep you coming back for more.

I'd highly recommend Rayman (as cheapogamer stated) despite NL's criticisms. Other than that, I really don't have a lengthy game to recommend (that isn't a puzzle game at least). I never got around to Starship Defense though (which I hear is a solid game), but maybe you should look into it.

Birdman

I'd reccomend in addition to Starship Defense, Fieldrunners (which could take 2 hours to make it through a stage) and Bejeweled Twist for good replayability. Just be a little wary of Fieldrunners, as it suffers from souless iPhone Portitis.

Exactly.

In addition to Rayman, I would recommend Number Battle and Trajectile, each 500 points. Each of them will take you about 10-12 hours if you want to "complete" the game.

Also, I think there is a recommendations thread around here somewhere, so you may want to check that out.

All of the games these guys have recommended so far are awesome. I don't have Rayman on DSiWare, but I loved the original DOS game.

You could also check out Pinball Pulse: The Ancients Beckon if you like pinball. It's a quality game with an amazing pinball table and honestly, because it's so challenging to unlock everything and get high scores, it'll give you loads of hours. And then if you love chasing high scores in pinball then the game will never end for you.

Bobpie

Dark Void Zero is great fun, and Trajectile/Reflect Missile will keep you busy for AGES.

Dragon Quest Wars? Not so much.

The Pie O' Bob be watching you...

FATEM

Flight Control is perfect if your a High-Score chaser but if not, PiCOPiCT will keep you busy for ages.

@Toki It's from Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney.

If you like Sudoku, then EA Sudoku is only 200 points and lasts forever. I've found myself going back to it again and again.

Paperclip

Trajectile has 230 stages, and is a blast to play. Plus Glow Artisan has a million fun levels, but is tricky to get a hang of.

Check out my classy comics.

Starship Defense and Trajectile for sure.

I have to agree with everyone who said Starship Defense and Trajectile.

Each has a bunch of levels, and it would take you a few hours each just to beat those levels. But the real challenge comes from getting medals and perfects in each game, which can more than double the play-time for each game.

PicoPict, Box life , Mighty Flip Champs, Car Jack Streets (Presumably) just to name a few, relatively lengthy.

lengthy as a BIG WORLD to explore or lengthy as simple, small, and a good time spender?
Rayman as big world
and
Car Jack Streets as a good time spender.... p.s. this is only an opinion, lol

Longest Game in the DSiware Shop:
With Millons of levels to beat, (with a hard mode as well)I think is safe to say that AlphaBounce just took that crown.

AlphaBounce is an infinite game lulz.

If you want a game that will end but is relatively lengthy, Mighty Flip Champs! should last 5-10 hours.

This is a signature.
Link goes here now.
Screw you.

armoredghor

Alpha bounce is incredibly long, other than that find an arcade style of game or puzzler like Art Style Base 10 or Pinball Pulse.
