After playing Phantom Hourglass for the umpteenth time, I've further determined how annoyingly repetitive the game is. You go to an island, solve its puzzle, go through the dungeon, solve a puzzle, go to another island, go further into the dungeon, repeat indefinitely. Hopefully, Spirit Tracks won't be as repetitive.
Concerning Phantom Hourglass, I've progressed all the way to the phantoms that warp their way to you.

It's a valid complaint, but why are you playing it umpteen times if it's so annoying and repetitive?

Your concerns are my concerns. The difference is that I'm convinced that Spirit Tracks will be just as bad, and I won't make any effort to obtain it.

To see if he can get through it? Unless he means he's beaten the game a zillion times, in which case, he must have a lot more patience than me.
I read it the same way I think Chicken is reading it now, but afterwards concluded that he meant he is trying again and again to get through it, not because he's finished umpteen times and is going through it again. I was in the same position when I was playing it. I wanted badly to finish that stupid temple so I could get back to what I considered the "real game." I wasn't playing it because I enjoyed those stupid statue puzzles but because I thought I would enjoy what came after. I eventually gave up though. Nothing is worth that.
I actually loved the Temple and having to get around the phantoms, especially because almost every time you go back to it, there's new shortcuts accessible in order to save time, and then being able to write notes on your map was probably the best feature they've ever put into a Zelda game ever. That was probably the most enjoyable Zelda temple I've played through in a long time, and I liked the ending, too (though the final series of boss battles was pretty easy IMO).
BEST THREAD EVER future of NL >:3

I haven't beaten it. It's just that in most Zelda games you go from one dungeon to the next with a continuous plot. In Phantom Hourglass there is almost no plot and a repetitive dungeon that only gets more frustrating as you progress. I don't know why I keep playing it. I just keep hoping it'll get quicker to get through each part of the dungeon, I guess.
I agree that more save points would be wonderful. I'd have especially appreciated the "save anywhere" feature from Wind Waker.
One minor quirk about the game is the return of the infamous, and anoying, Navi. Not having Navi was one of the better features of Wind Waker. Why'd they spoil it?
I hate how you have to go through the last few floors of the Ocean king temple all the time. I really hope they drop that formula.
I don't think the game was repetitive as it used all sorts of cool tuch screen elements that kept it fresh and innovative, something you can't say about Twilight Princess. I hated how traditional that game was compared to PH.
