Topic: (Legal) roms still work on DS lite?

Hi,

My old DS Lite broke recently and I`m looking to get a new one. As I travel a lot, and for convenience, i used a flashcard for back-ups of my games so I didn`t have to take a bunch of cartridges around with me. I`ve heard recent software updates may have stopped this (I don`t think I ever updated my old lite which was near 10 years old) - so I`d be grateful if you could let me know if this is still likely to work for me with my saved games on there if I buy a new DS lite with updated software? Thanks in advance.

Even if it's legal, "NINTENDO LIFE" will probably lock this thread and potentially ban you.

Who are you?

LzWinky

It's a previous generation, so it's no longer against the rules.

Anyway, the DS Lite was never updated. That only started with the DSi and 3DS

All DS Lites are the same anything that worked on one will work on any. (I kind of wish I had bought one of those cards when they were being sold legally everywhere).

Retro Game Challenge 2 / SaGa 2 / SaGa 3 I fancy trying. (I would prefer to just buy them for the 3DS but that doesn't seem to be a likely option).

The Phat DS and DS Lite both use the same BIOS, so cough flash cards cough will work perfectly fine.

The DSi on the other hand, depends on the firmware / type of cough flash card cough you have.
