Topic: Kirby Mass Attack - Daroach and the Squeaks

Hi everyone, I just noticed after reading about the game in a Kirby wiki tat when Daroach (the Squeak Squad leader) appears in this new game (Mass Attack) he introduces himself to Kirby (like they've never met before).

I kept thinking on this detail and it isn't possible that the game events have occurred before Squeak Squad (because in that way Kirby would know the Squeak Squad before in the game!).

I have the theory that this is because of the localization made by NOA that ended up putting "I'm Daroach..." instead of something else.

At last, I didn't know of other place on Internet to ask this so. Do any of you understand a little Japanese in order to solve this inconsistency?

Here are links to the exact moment on the game::

I'd say it's entirely possible that some localizer decided to throw that little insignificant inconsistency out the window. They do this kind of thing all the time. Of course this is really minor compared to how they made some people beleive certain characters are someone they were not meant to be. I won't get into specifics since that may derail the topic.

I don't always give myself signatures, but when I do, you just read it.

Kirby Mass Attack could just occur as if Kirby Squeak Squad never existed. Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 behave in the same way. Rosalina introduces herself to Mario in Galaxy 2 as if they never met, although they clearly met in Galaxy 1. It's not all that weird, really.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

@KKSlider

I'm aware that melee's trophy said his first appearance was in Kirby's SuperStar, when really it's in Kirby's Adventure, but google is not really revealing that his motives are any more clear in the Japanese game than it is in English. Seems he's just about as off and on with his good and bad behavior in Japanese. Do you have an article or something you can link me to? I'd really like to know more about this.

unfortunately, it would take a lot of forum archive searching to find it (Kirby's Rainbow Resort forum if you are looking, I was there when it was originally posted so I know it exists) but I do have a page that has the general idea of it

http://kirbysrainbowresort.net/kirbypedia/Meta_Knight_%28Game...

basically Metaknight in either version snaps but in the japanese version it's more of a well-intentioned extremist and in the american version he's suddenly evil

On the anime he's kinda good and bad, but actually you find out he is a friend (one of the Star Warriors) acting like Kirby's mentor.
