I started playing it a couple of days ago and it's brilliant — it's structured as a classic RPG (characters level evolves, party members, super moves, items, go from A to B, look for the object, talk to that person etc etc) but the random battles are football games (for example, 4 vs 4 matches where you have to score without suffering a goal within a time limit) and "boss battles" are longer football matches against other school teams. Each team you confront has a "theme", like there's a school team that uses black magic, another school team trains in the wild so they have "wild animals" abilities etc etc so there's a lot of variety and the characters have personality. It's not the best RPG on the market and the football part is played with the stylus so it's far from being half a decent football game, but these two things put together work somehow and the game is incredibly addictive, there's a lot of variety in character design etc so I recommend you to give it a try — 18 quid sounds like a good price to me.
