Hi, I have a question, hope someone can help me out, thanks in advance!
If I buy a DSi console in America, can I still download DSi ware from the American shop while being in the UK?

Yes, you can download from the shop of the region DSi system you own. If you buy a US North American DSi, that's the DSi Shop you'll visit.

@Corbie: will users of an imported DSi need to import Nintendo Points cards too like for the Wii, though?
