Topic: Good news regarding Scribblenauts' sequel

I read a preview of the new Scribblenauts game in N-Gamer. The good news is the controls have been completely overhauled.

"We're adding D-pad movement for starters. Also, the camera no longer snaps back automatically, it's user controlled," explained Jeremiah Slaczka , creative director of 5th Cell.

It also comes with an improved level editor. Furthermore, 5th Cell implied that they ran out of time to refine the first Scribblenauts to their satisfaction. This won't be the case in the sequel it would seem.

I loved the game and would give it a 9/10 despite the control issue frustration. Still, I did understand the pain of fellow Nauters regarding the controls and camera!

I read the preview too.

I was a bit dissapointed with the first game, so I think I'll trade Scribblenauts in and buy its sequel at a later date. It does look much better than the first one.

This is great news. Scribblenauts has awesome potential. If 5th Cell succeeds in correcting its issues with this sequel, we could have a potential classic.

I'm really excited for this. While I still thought the first was a great game, I was definetely a little disappointed. When you think about it, a LOT of the development time for the first one was probably spent on putting in words and giving them pictures and abilities and things, so they had less time to focus on other things. And while they will (probably) be adding things and improving items to be more realistic, they already have a lot of words and can focus more on controls, levels, and other things like that.

In my opinion, Scribblenauts wasn't much fun. I enjoyed playing around with it for a week, but then beat it. I kept it for a month or so, trying different things and combinations and such, only to find out that half of the things you can summon are the same. Cool idea, but the overall package didn't impress me at all.

The word "news" derives from all of the cardinal directions (n orth, e ast, w est, s outh). Not from it's age

forgive me for my ignorance, as I never played the original, but how could a camera in a 2D game be as bad as everyone says?
