Such is television advertising these days. That's mostly thanks to perfume commercials and marketing companies not having any idea what they're doing anymore.
Well, at least the original ad implies some of the Psynergy powers you get in the game.
Oh, and gaming has a long history of kooky television ads, I'm sure we're all aware.
Anyways the review was very short and did not convince me, so I am waiting for a better review, not in score, but in content, to decide if im going to buy the game or not.
7.5 sounds about right compared to previous Entries in the series. They're nothing new, and that goes double in this case where it almost sounds like a retelling, but they do some nice things here and there. If anything they actually convinced me to get the game somewhere down the line. A brisk pace also sounds like a good thing, and I like the new art style, and the new spell effects look great. IMO, Golden Sun has always been modest, and since there's no new Breath of Fire this gen, I don't have much else that fits the same criteria, besides Suikoden Tierkris, if I can find it.
That new commercial was terrible. The original Golden Sun commercial was far better.

Okay, I'll at least admit that was cool, even if it tells you even less about the game than the other commercial.
The commercial look like it cost more money to make, then it was to make the game. and i didn't even know it was about Golden Sun...
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
Maybe it's one of those reviews where the reviewer only played for like 3 hours? Considering how the first couple of hours of Golden Sun 1 kinda sucked and considering how this could be a 30+ hour game (considering how The Lost Age was just made because the GBA couldn't fit all of the world of both games in one cartridge), that wouldn't surprise me.
But I have to quite honest, in a rare bit of extreme bias on my part, my reaction to anything negative said about this game will be "screw you, it's Golden Sun."
Nintendo power only gave it an 8. One of their complaints was the battles were to easy. The reviewer said he was never even close to dying even once. Also the story never finished from the opening plot! Still an 8 is a very good score!

hey look Metacritic's description of GamePro's review says "Are you willing to put up with a particularly long opening that's nearly devoid of tactics, challenging puzzles, or meaningful plot developments? Because if you are, a pretty fantastic fantasy role-playing game awaits. If not, well, there are plenty of other RPG alternatives on the DS." I was pretty much right. I won't even get into the hypocricy of complaining about a terrible opening in a JRPG.

No you weren't. I'm sure you won't get into the hypocrisy of complaining about terrible openings in JRPGs, because there is no reason why they should have a terrible opening. If it isn't great from the get-go, it's severely outclassed by many other RPGs, regardless of how it gets later on.
I liked the reviews, the reviewers found flaws, and exposed them. I'm quite glad they didn't ignore the flaws since it's a highly anticipated Nintendo game! Don't worry though the reviewers here are more lax, a 9 is completely likely, a 10 wouldn't be surprising!

Even Corbie didn't ignore the flaws, and no offense to him, but I'm honestly surprised. I can only imagine how easy it must be to garner so much negativity when Golden Sun has always been very easy.
This is totally putting me in the mood for this game.
Why does it not currently reside in my DS? Why!?

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
