So has any other played tried the demo? It is very fun and have some sence of humor.

Awesome demo. Very fun.

The dialogue, the fade-to-text opening and whoosh-and-flash-at-tense-moments style are very similar to Phoenix Wright though. :/ I would have preferred it if they had been a little more original in the way they presented their story. I dunno, but that left a small bad taste in my mouth. (Just a small one.)

@HolyMackerel: to be honest, that's part of the reason my husband and I loved the demo so much -- we're big-big-big AA fans, and both of us are delighted to see another game with a completely different plot with the same style of dialogue and pacing we love so much from the AA series. :3

@tbd Don't get me wrong - I adore the style of the AA series. I was just expecting the dialogue to be a little different due to the more stylised art direction and the new gameplay. The similarities let it down for me just a little. I'm still totally anticipating it so no worries.

@HM: lol, don't get me wrong -- i can see where the similarities would throw people off, or even turn them off if they were expecting something different. it really was identical to the AA style, almost down to the sound effects... that little 'ping' when someone gets an idea or suddenly says something important, the blue inner dialogue, the whooshing and flashes and such. :3

Yeah, when I heard the same sound effects and saw the same visual effects I couldn't help wondering if the creator is some kind of one-trick pony. Then I tried the gameplay and I was like WHOAMG <3

I'm really hoping (and expecting) the tricks do unexpected things, and to have a lot more options available than the demo. The demo was reeeaaally straightforward and not totally representative of the final release, I think. If AA is anything to go by, the game is definitely going to to be more interesting and brain-bending than that. The characters already mentioned that you're going to have other abilities than just the TRICK button. They certainly wouldn't have let all of their secrets out in the demo. Got high hopes for this game!

I've been anticipating this game for a while so it is great to be able to finally experience it. This demo played exactly like I was hoping. Ghost Trick is going to be one sweet game. I am really liking the similarities with Ace Attorney. Speaking of that, I still need to pick up Edgeworth's game.

I've been really looking forward to this game based on its premise. My only experience with Ace Attorney is via Miles Edgeworth... a game I didn't especially connect with. [The "logic" in the courtrooms was frustratingly linear]

And I'm going to give the demo another run through, but my first impression is slight disappointment. It felt a little... slow... or stilted. Or just too 'weird'. Also, it didn't seem challenging, or rather from the demo, I didn't understand how the mechanic could really be made to be challenging .

On the flip side, the second after I finished the 999 demo, I preordered it (and loved both playthroughs of my retail copy so far).

I'll probably still get G T P D just because I'm a nerd and I like to fill out little slots in my collection, and this one will absolve my conscious from the absence of any Ace Attorney on the shelf.

You played the definite worst in the series. Go play the original Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and be astounded.
