He was promised to receive a pre-order bonus, its an incentive, why shouldnt he be mad that he ordered something at GameStop cause they wanted him to be their customer. Gamestop should be wanting to give the figurines.

If I'm honest,I don't know much about Pre-ordering.
May I ask does it cost more to get the bonus? or is it just simply there for more customers?

Unless he is a collector or if it doesn't cost anything, there is no need in saying Gamestop screwed him over.
Also,he makes the thread when he hasn't even called them up personally to see what has gone wrong.

Again, its pointless to complain and moan about a toy.
And there is far more important things going on in life than that.
Plus he is getting the game too....what more does he want? seriously give me a break.

I hear nothing but crap about this "GameStop" place from Americans all the time.

@Sean When you pre-order a game, you put down a deposit, which goes towards the final game price. If provided or if they want to, the shop can add a pre-order bonus to those ONLY who pre-order.

He pre-ordered it, why shouldn't he complain, he has a right to. You might not see it as a big deal but he does, so give him a break and stop hassling him.

This. Never been in one, don't plan to if I ever come across one either.

I think it's ridiculous Gamestop makes you preorder MH3 to get the dang demo. THAT is a rip-off and defeats the whole purpose of a demo. So, thanks to their ineptitude I will not be getting MH3.

Technically speaking, they're not allowed to do that (Capcom said so). But, being the twits that Gamestops are, they sucker ppl's money in.

Stuffgamer1

Yes, the demo is NOT a pre-order bonus for Monster Hunter Tri. It's understandable that employees would get confused and think it is, though, 'cause most demos stupidly ARE pre-order bonuses. When I found out what's really up, I called my store to let them know. They thanked me, realizing that giving the demos out BEFORE reservation make ENCOURAGE reservation. Duh.

@Sean007s: The point is simply that this is, no matter what you think about "it's just a toy," a matter of principle. One thing to realize: If they screw people out of figurines, what's to keep them from screwing people out of more important bonuses? For example, there was a MASSIVE deficit of Banjo-Kazooie unlock codes for reservation of Nuts & Bolts. That's a free $15 game! Surely people are allowed to be pissed they missed out on THAT! As such, it is NEVER good to sit back and act like it doesn't matter if you miss out on something.

I honestly don't understand why someone wouldn't at least be a little bit upset for not getting something they paid for.

Says the person who complains about having the option of paying to buy some more maps in a game.

Crap happens. Complain to customer service. If they don't resolve it, then whine about it.

Trust me, if this gets you angry, you should see some of the stuff I had to deal with

Preorder bonuses are generally ways to entice people to make the game purchase from the store that is offering the bonus. For example, when I preordered MPT, Gamestop was offering a free Metroid t-shirt while some competitors were offering other things like a $5 gift card, etc. I wanted the t-shirt so i preordered at Game Stop. Had they run out of t-shirts, I would have been pretty peeved. As it turns out, they only had XL which kind of made me aggravated since the thing was basically a dress on me and I can't wear it anyway. Had I known about the sizing issue, and had the OP known about this lack of figurines, we probably would have preordered from elsewhere.

It's a "bait and switch", but there's not even a "switch".

Magi

Stuffgamer1

@Magi: Pre-order shirts are almost ALWAYS XL. Just for future reference.
