A few weeks ago I (finally) finished Sonic the Hedgehog. The next day I beat it again with the six Chaos Emeralds.

I'm back (for the moment)!

I recently beat Pokemon Black. Overall, I liked it. I got used to the new pokemon, got used to the new music and areas. I really liked the story this time around, it was much more fleshed out than usual. The visuals and music, combined with the story made for a more 'epic' feeling to the game. This was definitely one of the better Pokemon games.

I 100% agree, but I thought all the Gyms felt more like paths than puzzles.

I think I may be one of the few that enjoyed DOS more than Symphony of the Night which is still highly regarded as thee' definitive Metroidvania experience. Maybe it's just me, but i found DOS's boss battles to be much more refined, tight and polished where as SOTN based on my memory were actually kind of sloppy and ridicuously button mashy and easy...Anyways, the Controls in DOS are superb, the graphics are super detailed and beautiful to the point where you can even see Soma breath form in the cold winter air, and the abilities and souls which you gain are fantastic for the most part. I love getting a new ability that allows me traverse to a certain part of an area.

But yup! SOTN actually kind of put me off from the Metroidvania franchise, but DOS on the other hand has actually made me more intruiged if anything...I mean I reallly really enjoyed the experience i must say. The music while pretty solid and definitly had a few memorable tracks wasn't quite up to snuff or on par compared to the outstanding music heard in SCIV or Rondo of Blood for example. Most of it had this Royal poshe' transtlevania-like vibe going on, while others like the Abyss really felt like you were in this grimey hellish demonic world.

If there's anything I didn't like about the game, it had to of been the generic bubble gum Anime art work during the cutscenes....Order of Eclesia appears to have the best gothic-styled and traditional-ish art work yet, too bad that wasn't present in DOS. And as for the touch screen controls, I actually didn't mind them...In ways it was kind of fun doing the seals, but screwing up a few times and constantly having to fight the boss again just because your lines we're quite pixel perfect was frusturating. This happened to me while facing off against Death. one of the BEST battles int the entire game, easily. awesome stuff! He slayed me too many times to count.

Also, i found the Final Boss...while massive and monstrous physically was a bit of a dissapointment battle wise....His first form was laughably easy. His 2nd form however was cheap as hell....He's practically unbeatable if you plan on going in without using a stock full of MP and or HP's...And that's all to the do with those overpowered flying pest enemies that keep coming at you. I never used one single HP or MP on any of the other bosses in the game which made it more challenging, rewarding and satisfying to play....But I had no choice for the final boss. Anyways, I finished the game at 98% and unlocked Julious mode...Made me realised how much i missed the whip!

A great game indeed. I just started another play through of this game (I guess I beat it at one point but dont remember lol) so far my only complaint is I wish you could put the play screen on top, cause after 20 minutes or so I have to stop cause I start getting a bad neck ache from having to use the bottom screen.

@Waveboy: No I havent played PoR or OoE yet. I am currently looking for those 2 as well as some of the Ace Attorney games. I am just about to start Pokemon White with my son (I got him Black while I got White so we can trade between games) so after I finish that I will probably look for the other two Castlevanias. I am also looking for Castlevania Bloodlines on the Genesis right now since PoR is a direct sequel to it.

As far as art style goes yeah I like the gothic style that was in SotN and AoS over the anime style of DoS. But whatever my main interest is the storyline.

DoS Disappointed me, the generic anime, the squeezed out storyline (a Dracula castle mock, really?) and the stupid touch screen controls. I did finish the game at 99.7% completion though. I did enjoy Aria of Sorrow a lot though. Great story, great art and no touch screen! I have finished all of the castlevania Ds games and would replay all of them, but my favorite was PoR.

Just finished Final Fantasy IV. The only thing I disliked is the final Crystal Palace having too much levels (11) until reaching Zemus, and also I found a couple of random enemies and treasure-guardians to be too hard to defeat, even harder than Zemus himself. Also, the overall music was monotonous, compared to other entries in the FF series. But, other than that, a real gem of a game, probably the best in the year it was released.

I just got the "good" ending in Cave Story. After having to replay the game twice because I didn't do some specific obscure things.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

Zelda - Phantom Hourglass, I thought it was great, I would have preferred more islands over the Temple of the Ocean King personally, and dread that they implement that into a 3D game. Have moved straight onto Spirit Tracks.

This game isn't Nintendo related, but I beat Persona 4 (got the true ending XD) for the second time. I Put 125 hours into that game! The most recent Nintendo game I beat was Unwound Future.

No one knows what kind of games I play!!

I beat two awesome ds adventure games this week: broken sword and crime lab. They both suprised me a lot, particulary broken sword plot twists!

Well I just beat this game a few hours ago (and it just happens that today is the 10th anniversary of its first release) and I have to say what a game. I have to say its been awhile since I played a game with this good of a storyline. As I kept getting in deeper and deeper into each trial I didnt want to stop. The twist and turns that the story takes just keeps me wanting more. As for the difficulty goes I have to say that this game had some moments for me in the beginning that had me scrambling for a walkthrough but by the fourth trial I was thinking like an attorney and I made it through without a slip up and no walkthrough. In fact I even surprised myself that I was able to come up with right bits of evidence at the right time.

As far as the cases go they were very well written almost like something I would expect from an episode of Law and Order or some other courtroom type drama show. There were a few moments that also had me chuckling mostly at some of the goofy facial expressions that some of the characters had. Speaking of characters that was another nice thing about this game was the wide variety of characters each one with their own unique personality no matter how big of a role they had each character was memorable in their own way.

Overall I highly suggest giving Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney a try especially if you never have. Its reminiscent of the ol point and click type games that's easy to pick up but hard to put down, luckily though you can save the game at anytime if you find that you need to put down this game.

So for my final ruling I would have to say

Graphics: 8
Storyline: 10
Overall: 9.5

And now its back to the courtroom with Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Justice for All after a small recess.

Luigi's Mansion (FINALLY, since I hadn't ever played it until this year) and I highly enjoyed its charm and presentation over any standard Mario game.

They forgot the Space Jump Boots.

Nightwalker

Just finished Professor Layton and the Specter's Flute...
What can i say... The game was simply magnificent, both story-wise and play-wise... And the epilogue was just the icing on the cake...
They simply don't make many games like this anymore... A wonderful experience...
