Reminds me of the Electroplankton titles all over again.
Looking forward to hearing what people think. Leaning toward's MCF the most; won't get Chef because I have it on PT: Cooking.

A couple of years ago, I had a Nintendo Mini Classic with Mario Cement Factory on it. I use to play it all the time til someone stole it.

After looking over and deciding on one, I went for Mario's Cement Factory.

Now I wouldn't go as far as to call it a must buy, I will say it's pretty fun for a time waster. I can see my self trying to beat my high score (A:49 B:200, so far) on it. It's not particularly deep, but for 200 points, it's a fun little arcade style game and you could do a lot worse for that price.

There are two game modes: GAME A and GAME B. From what I can tell, they are exactly the same, but GAME B seems to have a tad bit of a faster pace. Both modes have their own high score counter.

It also have a feature called "TIME". It basically puts your DSi on a screen saver mode demoing the game with a clock showing the time in the upper-left corner. But considering the clock is shown on the mode select screen as well, it sort of makes "TIME" pointless.

Finally, the game's help manual makes a point to state that "The Nintendo DSi version of this game does not include an alarm clock." I'm not too familiar with Game & Watch games in general, but I'm going to assume that the original toy had an alarm clock function, and it has not made it over. Not a big loss, considering the DSi has an alarm clock anyway (and multiple apps giving you other variations of alarm clocks.)

Well, the original had an alarm clock, hence Game & WATCH. Nice impressions.

For most G&W games, the difficulty level increases as you gain points. Game B starts you off at the level you'd be at after gaining I believe 300 points on game A, allowing more skilled players to skip those easy early levels.
Some games have actual differences between Game A and B, though - in Chef, the difference is how many pieces of food you have to juggle (3 in game A, 4 in game B), and in Judge, "game B" is the multiplayer mode, while game A is single player.

And yes, the G&Ws originally had alarm clocks. Hence the name.

I think this might be the new electroplankton for me...
in other words, I'll probably just get them all. Electroplankton is still my favorite.

Just let it happen.

Cheezy

I love these things! I own both G&W Collection 1 & 2 for the DS and all the Game & Watch Galleries (which I could play before I got the DSi). I bought the 3 yesterday and my favorite so far is Chef but it's also the hardest. Judge is OK, and Cement Factory wouldn't be as bad if it wasn't so slow. In fact, I'd love to see something that contains ALL of these G&W games, personally.

Who Are You?

irken004

I bought all 3 on the DSiware shop, they are all pretty good but I prefer Chef and Judge over Cement Factory.

Chef is all about timing.
Judge is about timing & luck.
Cement factory is about timing/strategy.

I got the collection from Club Nintendo awhile ago. Yeah it only has 3 games but its pretty cool. I downloaded Chef last night. Fun to play for short bursts. You always feel you can do just a litttle better next time.

Birdman

I've only gotten Chef so far, and it's definitely a good pick-up-and-play style game. It reminds me of a primitive Flight Control-type game.

Exactly.

Great to hear people's thoughts. So in what way is Judge luck-based beyond the numbers that appear? The act of using your hammer or dodging, is that a manual quick reflex sorta thing at the time of?

Pretty much, once a card is shown u have a small split-second to make a decision. For ppl with slow reflexes, it becomes more of a game of luck.

KnucklesSonic8

Excellent. Just wanted to confirm that. Was afraid that you needed to choose beforehand what your reaction would be to the numbers. Sounds like I'd enjoy it, especially with 2P Mode (I think recall playing it in G&W Gallery 2 on GBA many moons ago and I really loved that game). Thanks.
