Anyone else pick this up yet? I'm finding it to be a very enjoyable little puzzle game with a very nice presentation. It features lots of modes, with a different theme for each. In addition to the usual clear x amount of lines or race against the clock modes, there's a puzzle mode with 2 variations (each with 99 puzzles) that gives you interesting and amusing trivia for each of the 198 puzzles you complete, and unlocks a character for the gallery every 5 stages. My current addiction is the chain mode though, where you have to keep a combo going for as long as possible, and are graded on your preformance (19 is my current high). A very clear training option covers each mode, and scorekeeping is also included. Anyone on the fence, I suggest getting it. I HIGHLY doubt you'll regret it.
NP, hope you like it. I should probably try to explain the core gameplay a little: You use the dpad and buttons exclusivly (no touch screen controls) to move a 2x2 cursor, and rotate the multicolored blocks labeled 3-6. Your goal is to vertically or horizontally line up the number of blocks that is featured on them. So to clear a group of "3" labeled blocks, you need to begin by creating a column or row of 3 of them. They will then flip over and turn into "4" blocks, and you'll then need to line up 4 of them and so on until you get up to 6 at which point they will clear once you line up 6 of them. Clearing lines consecutively earns you combos, and that's when things start to get frantic (and addictive).
You know, I could've sworn I saw that skip, the developer behind the Art Style games (except for DIGIDRIVE) developed this game. Can you confirm this for me?
The title screen credits "Zener Works" as the developer. I can see no mention of Skip, and it has quite a different feel than the AS games I've played.
This game is a pretty fun puzzler. I bought this as an impulse buy beacause it was a Nintendo published game. Most of the 1st party titles for DSI Ware have been great. It is a great game if you like puzzlers.
Just downloaded this and am liking it so far... Reminds me of a combination of Mr Driller (graphics-wise) and Bejeweled Twist (gameplay-wise) with alot of cutesy thrown in. Will return back with further impressions, but so far it looks like a polished game, now time to test out the "game" bit

Yeah, I get a Mr Driller feel from the graphics too. They both have that bright, colorful and clean look. I seem to have been mistaken about the characters being unlocked in the gallery every 5 puzzle stages BTW. It seems they just chime in at random times during transitions between gameplay and the menu with brief statements of how good you're doing and what not. This game can be pretty silly sometimes I'm learning. There was one morbid trivia text that comes to mind about how lefties are more likely to die than righties. In the midst of all the squeeky colorful sunshiney cuteness, I had to laugh .

Yes, I encountered that little joke, too, while clearing the "puzzle" stages I think where you have just one spin to get it right. I remember he also said in reference to that lefties are "more prone to die" than righties joke... "i'm ambidexterous!"
Lots o' fun.

I've discovered a couple of unlockable feautures over the last few weeks I figured may be of interest. For one, if you reach a 100 combo on chain mode you get a special victory screen and unlock "Super Hard" chain mode (they arent lying either). On one move puzzle mode, around the puzzle 50 mark, you get a cryptic trivia about holding L and R at the title screen. Doing so brings up a staff screen, with a special 8x8 grid to play on while the credits roll. Anyone else find anything? I'm pretty sure there's more of this stuff.

That's awesome! I found similar unlockables while playing "DigiDrive" that awesome Art Style game that I think is so underrated. Many different themes opened up and new music, sounds, etc. I love that they put such thought into hardcore gamers like us.
