It's coming tomorrow. Got a bit sidetracked on a few other reviews, but I'm writing it up as we speak. Should be in the system later today and proofed and live by early tomorrow morning. Sorry about the slight delay. This is a rather lengthy quest and I wanted to get in as much as possible.

Ok, so I think I've misjudged how long this game is a bit. lol. I'm now 40 something hours into the game. Of course, yes, at least a few of those hours were me trying to get a high score on the two mini-games (still haven't yet. lol), but even so, there were (and still are) more bosses left to defeat than I thought. Plus, more crowns! I have gotten three or four new crowns so far & beaten that many bosses. I've also gotten a great lineup on my crowns now. My current group is: Ranger, Black Mage, Spell Fencer, and Elementilist. And they are awesome! We're beating bosses left and right now.
And there is still more things to do. I've noticed that there's this map that comes up after you save that shows you the different areas you've cleared. It looks like there must be four more areas! I know there are a few more crowns to collect, plus more bosses to defeat.
So my time guess on the game now is probably 50 or 60 hours (maybe more), especially if I do the secret towers & clear the mini-games (which I plan to do). That is a pretty good length, imo, for an rpg. Its no Dragon Quest 9, but still, I'm very happy!
I have a Backloggery now! Nothin' fancy, but feel free to add me as a friend. [21:15] Axoloth joined the conversation [21:16] Axoloth: I love you, dead chat [21:17] dead chat runs away [21:17] dead chat has left the convers...
@Eggmiester: there's plenty of reviews out now, and people can make up their own minds. I get the feeling not many people are going to listen to your opinion considering you've never played it yourself, though.

i refuse to buy trash so i wont get the game, it hurts my eyes to look at the game
It's such a shame you're judging a book by its cover and the colors of its pages
at least i don't base a game off one review like many other do, and if i can't stand looking at a game why should i play it
Because sometimes butt-ugly games can be fun. Conversely, beatiful games can be boring. As it's often said, graphics aren't that important.
An example: I found Final Fantasy XIII to be very painful to look at (seriously, there's so much Bloom, it's like staring at the G-ddamn sun). Did that stop me from enjoying it? No, not really. In fact, after a while I got used to the graphics and learned to appreciate the game for its quality gameplay and storyline. (and I learned to wear sunglasses indoors )
Really, I'm curious as to why you think you need to convince people that the game isn't that good just because the graphics don't appeal to you? I mean, it's not like the case with Muramasa or the Conduit where the only reason it was even being praised was because of its "stellar" graphics. Many people only care that the gameplay appeals to them, and some would even agree that the graphics are terrible, but won't let it get to them. Since it's a factor that most consider to be miniscule, why do you continue to harp on it?
I loved the visuals of the game. A very nice change of pace from the usual fare. And it seemed to get better and better the further into the game you progressed. All in all a breath of fresh air in a genre that's become a bit too predictable as of late, but certainly not a game for everyone.
I like 4 Heroes of Light's graphics a lot. I think it looks very nice!
Anyway, I finally got a high score on one of the mini-games and got a crown from it. I've also gotten a little bit further into the game's story. Not sure how close I am to the end of the game, but I'm going to continue forward with the story. IF I beat it before I get the rest of the crowns, I'll just go back to my save & try to get the rest. This is a very addictive game. I'm having a lot of fun with it.
If you mean the spell you need to take out the boss in that Quicksand Castle or whatev', they sell an item in Guera at the item shop you can use against it. I forget what it's called off the top of my head (antarctic wind?), but it's a one-shot water attack and I think I only needed three in all to take him out. you can deal damage without using water against him, so if you don't buy enough and run out in the middle of battle, don't give up immediately. :3
If you're farther along than that, they sell water tomes in Urbeth; it looks like a giant tower on the map screen (bigger than the Moonlight tower, even) and it's dominated by the four merchant lords. i got hella-lost at one point and wound up there, so i picked up a water tome while i could, hahaha.
