Topic: Favorite Nintendo DS Game

I know it's hard, but if you had to strip your collection down to only one game, what would it be, and why?

For me, it would be Contra 4. This is still the most incredible action game I've ever played. It was an homage to the Contra series so perfect that it essentially transcended the quality level of earlier games. It's the sequel Contra 3 always deserved.

Well I havent played to many DS games since during the DS era I didnt have much money to spend on games. As it is I am playing catch up now and playing some of the DS games I have missed on my 3DS.

With that said I would have to say that for the time being my favorite would have to be Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. As much as I liked Dawn of Sorrow I just felt that they over did it with the touch screen gimmick. The seals were ok but the blocks that you had to tap were a bit too much. Anyway PoR took what DoS did minus the touch screen gimmicks. Plus I loved the fact that it was a direct sequel to Castlevania: Bloodlines on the Genesis.

Mario Kart DS, but it was probably better when it first came out? I dunno...

Otherwise either Ace Attorney 3 or Rhythm Heaven.

I'd have to go with either FE: Shadow Dragon or Aliens: Infestation. Wayforward @Ralizah!

Probably GTA: Chinatown Wars. It's perfectly executed and a ton of fun.

WayForward is incredible. If Atlus didn't exist, it'd be my all-time favorite developer for sure.

How is that Aliens game, by the way? It look neat. Very Metroid-esque.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. It had the most emotional story I've ever seen in a video game and had, in my opinion, the best gameplay on the handheld.

that's a tough question. i'd have to go with Dragon Quest IX. i love everything about this one, even the grinding. there is so much customisation and the different vocations/classes add replay value.

Halo DS

I've always loved Assassins creed 2 discovery a lot. That one would be my favorite DS game.

@Ralizah I love it, but everyone I knew who expected a Metroid level of epicness was disillusioned and let down. It's better than Fusion IMO. Let the rotten egg throwing begin.

The main complaint I've heard is that enemies absorb an insane amount of shots before dying.

Yeah, that's true. I just thought of it as a challenge.

I'm going to say Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver, I've put so many hours into both those games...

Not really a though question for me. No doubt, it's professor layton and the unwound future! Actually it's my favorite game of all time

Pokémon Heartgold

I'd say Pokemon White 2- it made me feel like the first time I ever played Pokemon and corrected every nitpick I could think about the older games. Solatorobo and One Piece Gigant Battle are close seconds.

I love the wave of DS heroes who never raised a weapon except in defense. Layton, Phoenix Wright, Ghost Trick but above all others 9 hours 9 doors 9 persons for its fantastic story and characters. Other highlights would be Okamiden, The World Ends With You and Mario 64 Ds

I suppose it'd have to be Dragon Quest V. So awesome. ;(

This game is my favorite on DS!!!
