I mainly just wanted to recommend that anyone who has the game should take their time and not worry about the medals. At 40 medals you unlock the jet glider, but it's rarely more useful than the other gliders. At 50 medals you unlock free play mode (you can fly around and enjoy the three maps without stars, balloons.) At 63/63 medals you unlock night mode in free play. Getting star-rank on every level doesn't do anything.
The controls are good. To compare to Looksley, I'll say they're 2X better but the gameplay type requires 3X better controls. My ceilings are all white, so when diving it would throw off the camera. But I found a way around it eventually. As a perfectionist, all the camera error messages drive me crazy, but most players should be able to ignore them. Overall I recommend Face Pilot for being a bit more professional, but Looksley is still pretty unique. Gameplay lengths are about the same, you can power through either game pretty fast if you want to.
They give you a lot of room for error, so difficulty is both challenging and easy.
@jd: thanks for posting about the unlockables in this game. I wasnt sure if I wanted to run through this game or take my time with this one so I figured if I only beat 9 challenges a day (instant dl'ed this Monday) I could get a week out of it to free up space for anything awesome that may or may not come out tomorrow. Well I got to 43 and I haven't had a chance to play since.
But anyways, I just wanted to recommend this title as well. I also had trouble getting the right lighting for theis one to work. I ended up using a black background that seems to fix most of the camera error problems I was having. Overall, im really glad I waited to make this game my first camera only type game from the shop! quick question. Does the game automaticlly give you a star for completing all the challenges for each course. Like if you manage(some how) to pass 4/5 challenges with a C, but after you finish up the last challenge will you get a star every time? jw.

I believe the star and letter ranks are for your high score. However, I think a star-rank high score is required for one of the medals in every stage except the first. But theoretically on your first play-through you can get a star-rank and no medals, or all the medals without achieving star-rank.
I just bought it today. It mostly worked for me. You know, there is an option to calibrate the camera for light and dark rooms. That seems to help somewhat. I think it is worth 500 points so far but I haven't dug in too deep as of yet.
So far the only problem for me is the camera's shutter sound. It plays before every level when you take your picture, and can embarass you when playing in a crowd.
Hey look, IGN gave it a 2.5. Craig Harris basically trashed the controls and was done. I was playing it last night in my fairly dimly lit basement. I disagree with him; this game works a lot better than Looksley's Line Up. I agree with you sonic_brawler95, they should have allowed the user to take one picture at the beginning and apply that to all courses/challenges. The link is below.
...and the Kotaku review if anyone is interested. It is also not very positive. I'm not sure people know that you can re-calibrate the camera. I admit that they kind of buried the option.
Umm.... would you mind saying why you don't recommend it? I haven't played the other 3, so I can't give a good comparison, but the game is great if you're in the right environment.
Would you guys recommend this game over A Kappa's Trail, Grow Artisan or Soul of Darkness?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for your input.
I lol'd.
Out of those 3, I only played Glow Artisan. I would reccomend this over GA, because it's something that feels new. GA is a fun game too, but it gets really challenging really quickly. I would reccomend this.
