What should we expect with a dsi HBC? Team Twiizers has an exploit and use an Arudino chip to transfer data and dump nands. What apps do you want for it? I'm hoping for some way to put all the cookies from the internet browser onto the sd card so we could have faster internet.

I would like to see upgraded versions of already existing DS homebrew like Moonshell 2, Tuna-viDS, ands-pdf, Quake2DS, etc. When (if) HBC for DSi is created, it probably won't be released for the public to use, but only to some developers because it wouldn't make sense to release it before any homebrew is made so that Nintendo can block it.

I love pocket physics... Make a version that is faster with more proccesing power of the dsi, or let you take a picture of something and turn the image into an object! But the homebrew community is super-creative, so I can't wait to see what they are going to do
Actually, I've been following Team Twiizers closely on this, and they're still very far from having any sort of usable exploit. Bushing ended up bricking his DSi when trying to gain access to the RAM, and they then took it apart and hooked it up to various equipment in order to trace the RAM, but they're still nowhere near figuring out all the necessary keys, encryption, and exploits to get anything to run. You can read their latest run-down of their efforts here.

@warioswoods: i thought he said he blew a fuse with it? that's not really the same as bricking, is it? ;/

I don't believe he says definitively either way what he did to it:
"I decided to get a bit more aggressive and see if we could sniff the RAM. This didn’t actually end up working out so well. The thing stopped powering on, and well, yeah." "Once it became clear that something was seriously wrong with my DSi and it was never going to be useful in its current form, it gave its life to science."
But you're likely correct that "brick" would be the incorrect term, since it sounds like he may have caused some sort of hardware damage instead of merely locking up the firmware or software into an un-bootable situation. Either way, an amusing and informative little article about his misadventures.
EDIT Post-Lock -- @Prosody - That's the first I've heard of the no-homebrew policy here, but I have to say that it's a reasonable decision given how easily homebrew can unfortunately lead to piracy.
@warioswoods: i do love reading what they post. i don't have the technology lying around nor the time and patience it takes to do the kinds of things they do, but it's all so interesting.

We'll be revising the community rules in the near future to state our official opposition to homebrew.
In case anyone has missed earlier posts on the topic, here's the gist again - please, do not discuss homebrew or any form of modification on these forums. Thank you.
