Both are excellent. What kind of games do you like to play? I'd take the PSP for strategy RPGs, FPS, shoot em ups. I'd take DS for JRPGs and puzzle games. DS has more variety overall.

DSi!!!!!! i like it way more than a PSP

unless u hack a PSP to play Nintendo games like a friend of mine did (it broke the nxt day!) XD

as a DSi owner, the only reason I have considered the eventual purchase of a PSP is the fact that it can emulate PSX games. the mess of different firmware editions and reported unhackable PSPs have given me cause for concern, though... if I buy something, i want to know for sure that i will be able to run what i want on it.

I don't think hackers and emulators are their target audience.

DSi, even the lite was better than the PSP. The PSP is mostly good for multimedia stuff. Not really for games.

i realize that, but since the only reason I wanted one was because I'd like a portable way to play all the old games I've got sitting in a CD case under an inch of dust, i figured it bore mentioning.

@Adam
That seems to be their target audience. It seems funny that when I ask someone why they prefer the psp over ds, it always has to do with a hack. Very few ever mention the official library.

here's the way i see it:
if u like Nintendo games, get a DSi/Lite; if u like Sony games, get a PSP

Brandon, I was just cracking a joke because it was funny how she worded it, not judging anyone. But you're wrong, it's very much not the target audience; otherwise, they wouldn't be constantly updating the firmware to prevent it.

Plus, I know just as many people who use the DS for the same reason. Neither company is (completely) stupid; they want people to buy their new games, not just their hardware. Hardware is not generally as profitable as software, and who would settle for one sale when they could hook a user with many more sales through new games?
