I can't for the life of me figure this one out. When I close the lid when using the music-playing part of DSi Sound, it goes into Sleep mode and the music stops until I reopen the lid. Which makes it a bit hard to use as an MP3 Player (well, AAC Player, but you get my drift). How do I stop it doing that? I'm pretty certain you can, but can't find anything in the Settings to do that.

@Demonbaby: Plug the SD card into your PC (you may need to buy an SD card reader, but they're dirt cheap), copy the music files over (they need to be in AAC format, not MP3. iTunes can do that), plug the SD card back into your DS.
This is kind of off topic but how do you put music on an SD card?
You need to convert the music into AAC by using a music player like iTunes (which is free anyway). Then all you need to do is find the music in your iTunes library and copy it to the SD card.

Thanks, I'll get right on that! Edit: iTunes, not iPlayer. DERP. Fixed.

You have to have your headphones plugged in. Since the speakers are on the inside, you see.

Note that you have to have the headphones plugged in already before closing the DSi in order to still hear sound; if you just close the DSi and then try to plug in the headphones afterward, it won't work because it's totally in sleep mode. :3
Interestingly enough, the alarm clocks all work whether the DSi is closed or not, though the speakers are somewhat muffled while it's closed.

And to add to the list of oddities...PiCTOBiTS won't enter sleep mode even if you close your DSi while in the music player.

I can understand the alarm working whilst the lid is closed (the same applied on the original DS and DS Lite too), since the screen doesn't actually go off, just dims, but it's still pretty bright. Sound isn't muffled too badly - it still wakes me up far more effectively than my standard alarm clock in the morning. Shame the power/Wi-Fi lights remain fully on though, they're incredibly bright. And glow from dim to full. Have to stuff my DSi between two books in my bookcase to stop it making the bedroom look like the aliens have landed.

I wish they would let you set your alarm to a song or recorded message(, and have multiple alarms through out the day.
.............They do.... You just have to get one of the Clock Apps. (I suggest the Mario Clock to anyone but Animal Crossing fans or people who like cute things.)
The clocks have digital and analog clocks with 12 or 24 hour settings for the digital one, three alarm sets, special alarm sounds, a snooze function, the ability to offset the time from the main internal clock, an energy saving feature that shuts off the screens after a period of time when it's on battery power, and the ability to import your own recorded sound from the Sound App.
The Mario clock features a Mario skin to the clocks with a mini game in the background that you can play through and three special Mario sounds. The Animal Crossing clock has a static Animal Crossing image with the characters and the town that changes throughout the day to have different characters and different lighting and the ability to change the town tune that chimes each hour as well as three special Animal Crossing sounds.
Can you listen to music from an SD card while playing a game?
No, unfortunaly. I'm hoping for an update that'll let you do that, but I'm guessing when we start getting DSi-specific games they'll have that feature. Beating down baddies in Zelda while listening to Bodysnatchers?? that would be Awesome!

That would be a wonderful feature. Even better: I'd love for each game to give you an options screen that lets you tag specific songs or groups of songs from your SD card for specific functions. For instance, let you select music for "boss battle", so that your chosen track or list of tracks will kick in automatically as you enter a boss's lair.
I'm thinking National Anthem for that, or perhaps Bjork's Army of Me.
