No,but I would like one.

Souls are for the weak. I flow with the darkness on the pathway of depression.

People don't complain about a lack of games on the VC. They complain about the lack of a few specific games on the VC. The VC has over 300 games: not a lacking number, last I checked.

In any case, as for the DSi, I would definetly enjoy having a Virtual Handheld Console (Who wouldn't?), but I'm not going to be upset if one never comes.

Not really since I own about 120 GB/GBC/GBA games already. But it would be nice to be able to download them all to my DSi system instead of having to carry around a bunch of different systems.

Plain old gamer :)

The DS doesn't need a VC yet.

It's too soon.

Nintendo probably does have people who read forums for work. My store manager worked at EA for six months during a hiatus last year, and he says half his time every day was spent reading forums. It seems likely that other companies would do similar things.

@Buster13: We do have a history of complaining that we only get one VC game per week, though.

@AlexSays: What exactly makes it "too soon?"

There's already easy access to the main systems a DSi VC would offer.

Own a Gameboy Advance and your DS of course, and BAM! you can easily buy almost every game that would be on the service.

Nintendo knows a handheld VC is a pocket ace so they'll keep it until it'll be as huge as possible. That's when A) the DSi is in everyone's home and B) it's been a couple years and handheld games are slightly harder to find.

Well it took WiiWare a good two years to come out, so give it some time.

You know really, after being active in this forum for a few weeks now, I see a tremendous amount of complaining and ranting about what Nintendo is not doing. The only forum user that really makes a valid point is Alex Says. The majority of the rest is mindless ranting and banter.

How is the DSi a disappointment? That makes hardly any sense at all?

@AlexSays: Original Gameboy games are actually getting pretty hard to come by nowadays. And of course, from Nintendo's point of view, they would make money from the DSi VC downloads, whereas used cart sales net them nothing. Also, the DSi will never be in everybody's homes until they DO set up the DSi VC! I've seen a good number of people say as much around here, and I'm sure it applies elsewhere as well.

I agree completely. Im going on a Gameboy Vintage game hunt this weekend wich will be goin to flea markets to try to track down some games I dont want to buy online. I have a nice collection of them but there are some I really want and just have a hard time finding. A VC would be a nice fix to this problem. ALSO think about this. Nintendo is about to drop Mario and Luigi 3. Well there is a previous game Superstar Saga on GBA that could be released as well on the same day or around about to I GARUANTEE it would sell like crazy. I just think its money very lost on Nintendos part.

We are of like minds.

Anyways, I feel rather desperate for the lack of Virtual Handheld. The possiblity of the release of a Virtual Handheld AFTER the expiration of the "free 1,000 points period" makes things more frustrating, but, considering that the free points and Virtual Handheld would cater to different markets (and the fact that the consumers who entered DSi Shop for the DSi points would stay for the Virtual Handheld), I will not complain.

Also, in agreement with Mr. AlexSays, the presence of a "free points period" marks the DSi as "new."

I'm not minding the lack of VC games. I'm still enjoying all the games I bought when I bought the DSi. There's not enough time to play them as it is.
What I do wish they'd come out with is DSi game cartridges so I can play them online using WPA encryption.

My prediction of DSi VC: Tokyo Game Show unveil. Save their big guns for the motherland.

EDIT: Er, wait, Nintendo usually doesn't go to TGS. Whatever the Nintendo Japan conference is at that time. Spaceworld? Around then. Sometime after the free 1000 Nintendo points promo I reckon.

I know for instances that ti's the reason I didn't get one. I like my GBA port.

Don't let my location fool you. I'm Québécois, not Canadian.

No, DSiWare is getting better. If I get desperate to play my old GBA games I'll get a GBA for $10.

I would imagine a VC getting released sometime after the 1000 point offer expires, but to be honest I would actually like some new versions of classic VC games instead (for now) just like Bubble Bobble plus and Mega Man 9 on the wii.
Something along the lines of a new Classic Mario Bros game or such like.

I'm talking about the one game weeks, and in Europe the every other VC weeks.
