Well, Kombo's retraction says that NINTENDO told them directly that it hasn't been announced outside Japan, which implies that it was announced there. However, I must admit that I've seen no official announcement outside of that.

This whole thing is highly disappointing. Nintendo would surely rake in the moolah if they did start up this service, and yet they seem to have no plans for it, at least none that they've OFFICIALLY announced. I'm tired of trying to trust much of anything Reggie says, though, partially because of the weird round-about way he talks and partially because he has a history of changing his stance on something for no apparent reason. Nothing is final, that's for sure.

Reason? The only way we could play GBA games on the DS lite was because of the ARM7 processor. Which was taken out of the DSi (from what I've been told).

The only reason why I would've bought a DSi is gone.

Then what is the the point of the DSi Shop? All the DSiWare games are mediocre and GB and GBA games would make it more interesting.

i can see it now =} late this year we might have a gameboy download service on the dsi shop with the only reqirements being a hcsd card =} i can imagine playing pokemon rubie/legend of zelda the minish cap =}
