The fact that I've never played a PSP before, plus the fact that I'm like the BIGGEST Nintendo fanboy in North Carolina, both add up to me saying... The DS is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the PSP could EVER hope to be.
psp wins by a long shot and the psp go wins even more. the ds has horrible graphics and only about 5 good games. Case closed. the psp has dozen of amazing games and the psp go is even better. thaqt is why the ds is a fail and psp isn't
Order from best current handheld to worst

Hilarius.
Let's see, from what I played, they seem to be relatively close. Problem is, THE ONLY GOOD GAMES THE PSP HAS ARE REMAKES/COLLECTIONS.

Yes, because the only thing that matters in games is the graphics. And you're obviously playing the wrong games, as I've played nearly 20 DS games, and there's only 3 or so I didn't like.

Well, I'm glad there's at least one fan for the PSP here. It's just too bad he comes off as a raving fanboy, much like everyone else here.
This is the DS vs. PSP topic. It doesn't have to be DS it can be the normal one or the DSi, or on the PSP side it can be the original or the PSP Go. I personally like DS's better but I've never played on a PSP much. What are your guys' feelings?
How old are you? Seriously?? Do you know how much sh&t this type of topic made a few years ago? Were you around when the DS and PSP first came out???? STOP IT!!!

I've had a DS Lite since release. I bought a PSP Slim when it was released but sold it within about 6 months simple because it lacked games that interested me. It was a cool system to hold in your hands but there were only 2 games that I actually played all the way through and enjoyed; Ridge Racer and Silent Hill Origins (since I like survival horror games).
That said, it's been like 1 and a half years since I sold it, but I just bought a PSP Slim again! Just because I miss those 2 games...bit of a shame really. There's also a Resident Evil game coming to the PSP so I'll get that. Who knows...maybe I'll end up selling it again ><. But other than that there seriously aren't any games that interest me compared to the DS. Overall though the DS is hands down the better console. I've played so many games on it that I've really enjoyed compared to the PSP. PSP is better for sports, racing and the more simplistic game designs but DS is better for RPGs and strategy games (Advance Wars!), and I just enjoy the unique touch screen features that developers implement into their games.
Arguing about names and the amount of buttons is stupid. The PSP was ahead on the multi-media front for a long time and still continue to be (although the DSi's internet channel and music player is bringing Nintendo forward) but the DS was way ahead on original games. Right now, with all the advances that have been made by both companies, It is about even. The main thing that the PSP has for it in my opinion is the range of shooters. I find impossible to track down a good first person shooter for DS apart from Metroid Prime: Hunters. Final Summary of my opinions: Both great systems with the DS for classic characters and my need for games that challenge my puzzle and platforming centres of my brain and the PSP for my need for games that make shoot a lot of things in a minimum of time. Also I'm proud that we've managed 32 posts without resorting to childish name-calling. Truly it is a large step in the retardness of the "Console Wars".
I have the dsi and the psp go both, my opinion is psp is better in many ways from dsi, grafix ,internet (via media go )screen, sound etc,but i thing that the dsi has better software and more playable games (classic nintys way)
1) Price - Both the console and new games were cheaper.
2) Games - There were so many games I knew I wanted. I've played Mario Kart, Starfy, Rhythm Heaven, and LoZ: Phantom Hourglass, and I've enjoyed them all. There's a good mix of immersive titles (Zelda) and pick up and play (Mario Kart, touch screen mini games, etc.). I can't think of anything I want on the PSP. I don't really keep up with it, but I feel it's the company's job to let me know about games and why they're cool. Hence, marketing departments.
3) Clamshell - I can carry it in my purse without a case and not worry about it getting scratched up. I do use a screen protector on the bottom screen too though. It also means I can have twice the screen with half the size.
4) Touch screen - At first I thought it was a gimmick, but I'm really into it. Great for menu's, minigames, some puzzle games, and I think it's probably easier than an analog nub for games like Zelda.
5) Possibility of a DSi VC - I'm really starting to think it won't happen now, but when I bought it I figured it would be a sure thing. I never really got into GBC/GBA except for a bit of Pokemon and Tetris, but I would love to get more into those games now. Can't argue with old-school Nintendo.
Not a definitive answer, because I haven't played the PSP, but if nothing else, it shows Nintendo is better at letting people know why they should buy their consoles than Sony.
I was really worried about missing my Wii, but I am loving my DSi away from home. I haven't really been this into a portable game system since my Game Gear (and part of that was because I didn't have an actual console). I don't think I could have enjoyed any other game system this much.
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery
Firstly, there was no need for brackets in your statement, secondly, please refraine from using previous bracket inside a bracket eg. (Hi ( Hi Again) Bye) Instead do ( [ ] ).
That was a nice off topic chat.
