I was playing Bowsers Inside Story last night and the screen kept turning white, but if I like tilted the screen it would go back to normal? WTF!? I guess it doesn't really matter since the 3DS comes out soon if it breaks...but still
that happened to my husband's lite and i remember googling about it; apparently there was something up with the cable connecting the screen to the board inside. his also had a cracked hinge because he liked to lay it out flat, idk if that had something to do with the cable issue though. the only cure is either you replace the cable yourself (there are guides available on the internet, google them :3) or have Nintendo repair it for you.
you can always trade it in against a 3DS and let Gamestop deal with refurbishing it, though :3

Your top screen conectors are a bit loose or breaking, my little sisters DS LITE does it :/ you can either buy a new top screen, put up with it unitl the 3DS is released (I suspect March 2011) or buy a new DS... any choice but 3 is wise.

Ahh I see. I think I'll just wait for the 3DS then . It's not fully broken yet but I suspect it will be soon. They have a deal where you can trade the DS towards the 3DS!?

@WAM: i'm not sure -- i know they (GameStop) were taking Phats when the DSi came out... idk if they'd take a Phat against a 3DS, but they'd probably take a Lite and they'll more than likely be taking DSis. they'll put out advertisements saying what they'll accept as a trade-in when they start gearing up for launch, though. :3

The hinge on one side cracked and the top screen ended up dying.
Eventually only the bottom screen worked so eventually it just became a gameboy.
