Topic: DS + Fighting games = ?

Aight so I was just looking around other game sites when I found this game called Fate/Unlimited codes. The game looked sweet, BUT, it was for the psp (sadly I don't own one). What I'm trying to get at is why isn't the ds getting attention in the fighting genre? It doesn't have to have upgraded graphics or anything so where is Street fighter or King of Fighters? It's almost as if there is no such thing as Fighting games on the ds. When I bought the ds I wasn't expecting Smash bros. but at least a SF or KOF. slow down rpgs a little in favor of more Fighting games. Thoughts?

There's a Mortal Kombat and the Jump! Stars series but other than that we've got nothing.

Bleach is meant to be good. It's made by Treasure.

"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." Matt. 1:21.

That is odd, especially as there was a Tekken game on the GBA (I think, maybe I imagined it).

Yes Jump! bleach and mk are all good. But, Jump is only in Japan So we have 2 good fighting games. we need Moar.

Yup, that happened, as well as 3 or 4 Street fighters on gba.

DS has a few more fighters, guilty gear comes to mind. I also think a Full metal alchemist fighter was released. They exist, but good ones are hard to come by.

I would love to see a Super Smash Bros. game for the Nintendo DS.

Ultimate Mortal Kombat, Guilty Gear: Dust Strikers, and especially Bleach: Dark Souls are the only ones I can really list. The Bleach games are the best, IMO.

I thought there were only 2 Street Fighters?(SSF2T and SFA3) There were also 2 KOF GBA games, now that I think about it.

I think the DS Viewtiful Joe was also a Fighting game.

The two Bleach fighting games for DS are great, but after playing the PSP versions it just feels so inferior.

How so? From what I've played, the PSP Bleach games feel a tad too simple. Sure, they're fun at first, but after a few matches, I feel like I've seen everything the game has to offer, and I quickly lose interest.

The DS Bleaches, on the otherhand, seem to be more complex, offering a lot more strategy to them(what with the card system, the multiple plains, the multiple characters, excetera), and so far it has held my interest for far longer than the PSp games ever could.

But that's just me.

The Bleach games are AWESOME! (coughnobiascough)
So long as people would get over the fact that it's based on an anime (seriously, it's not that big of a deal...), it can be considered the best fighting games on the DS!

I'm working on a game that's coming out soon!

Treasure made that? I might actually pick it up now then! I avoided the game before cuz I didn't care about Bleach!

You must be thinking of VJ: Double Trouble, which definitely wasn't a fighting game.

Everyone else mentioned all of the game I could think of. I don't mind, as I don't care for fighting games, and the genre's not very well-suited to the system anyway.

that's true. The ds can't do things for fighting games the way it should. It's just irritating that there aren't many fighting games on it. you'd think that smash bros. would have already made it to the system by now.

The only one I can think of that anyone hasn't said yet was Draglade.

Did that have a PSP version? If so, then I think I've played it, and it was a lot of fun.

Agreeing with the superiority of the Bleach games.

As of now, its the only redeeming factor of the series to me. The writing, pacing and "plot" have gotten outright terrible.

Mortal Kombat would work, but Capcom fighters just wouldn't, its the 4-way D-pad it just doesn't work well for SF type games.
