Topic: DS Phat Spare Parts

Hey folks. Anyone know a decent, trustworthy site where I can get spare repair parts for my DS Phat? The hinge broke ages ago, so I bought a new case from Amazon and transferred the internals over, but after wiring everything back up, it won't start (the power light comes on, the bottom screen sometimes flickers, then it turns off again). I think the problem is with the flat brown cable that connects the top screen to the motherboard, it's gotten pretty scratched and creased around the hinge area and has a little transparent spot if held up to the light. I'm pretty certain that's not good
Anyone know where I can buy a replacement cable? I think that's the issue, because when it was working, disconnecting the top screen had the same effect.
I'm in the UK, so US/Aussie shops are a no-go unless they do cheap shipping.

I had the exact same problem once. Those cables are very fragile. I decided to just buy a new DS Lite so I didn't really look into it.

@Raylax: I had that problem (the bottom screen thing that is).
before and fixed it. Just playing the other night on it.

If I could see it up close I might even be able to tell you what's wrong maybe. Are all your ribbon cables secure (including the little ones under the big ribbon attached to the lower screen)? Any of you clips that hold the down broken?

Edit: I'd like to help you figure it out before you waste your money. You might not need to replace that ribbon. It might not be the problem. That can happen if your connection are loose or not in right on one of the lower ribbon cables This could happen. Not sure if is everyone,but it does happen. If those little clips on the tiny ribbons are gone I could still possibly help you make it work. I'm missing one of mine and I got it to work.
