While I'll definitely own both, if I could only have one, I'd take Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light.

Both. If I had to choose between the two, DQ9, since it's out sooner, lol. :3

What idiot said this?

Oh wait.

Scratch that, I'm buying FF4HOL after seeing some more footage and info.

They both look like awesome, solid RPGs, but I think Im leaning towards FF because I have no other people to play DQIX with, so I may lose out on some things in the game, whereas in FF, I will get the full package.
If Golden Sun was included in this thread, I dont plan on getting it because I didnt play the other 2.

With these 3 games, the DS is going out with an RPG bang!

Both are amazing in their own right so no need to choose one from the two.

I will be getting both very near to each of their release dates. If I had to choose which one I'd get I'd choose FF 4 Heroes of Light, but that's without the release date playing a factor. Since DQ9 is coming out sooner I'd get that rather than wait for FF. If they were coming out on the same day FF no contest.

I've already got Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light pre-ordered, so I'm pretty much guaranteed to get it day 1. Then I'll play it on Xmas day.

However, I will also be getting Dragon Quest 9. 5 years after its release, when its cheaper than a gallon of gasoline. Then it'll sit on my shelf for another 5 years before I dare start playing it.

Easily Final Fantasy Gaiden.

I'm just too much of a sucker to pick up something else ahead of it. ^ __ ^;

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

Final Fantasy 4 Heroes of Light looks pretty impressive but I'm just not as excited for it as I am Dragon Quest IX. Corbie's E3 impressions of it made it sound very promising so I am looking forward to playing it. Anyway, Final Fantasy won't be out for quite some time and Dragon Quest is nearly here. Ah, only a few more days and my long painful wait for Dragon Quest IX will soon be over. I can't wait to read Corbie's review of it.

I say DQ 9 as it comes out tomorrow, and get the FF $ Heroes of Light when that comes out later on this year.

Go with DQ, it's a steady franchise where they've not screwed up this that or something else with it that'll end up turning you off eventually. I'm not saying this FF game will be bad, but they've been doing some pretty dumb crap to them since FF10 came out (FF3 on DS being the exception) where they've been doing some really lame stuff to the remakes and originals. The big one to me and final straw was mucking up my fav FF4 on DS. Random creatures can hit harder than a boss at any time and kill a party in a solitary blow or damn near it...and now all bosses like from FF10 forward you need to learn who to use and what skill on a boss, because if you do one wrong thing they do some super deathblow and it's just over reducing it to zero strategy and all memorization...complete crap. That said things at far as portable go have gotten shorter and shorter, cheezier with the story so it lacks any form of connection, and they've been shoving in some really dumb mandatory touch control wiggled in with dpad/buttons so it's quite uncomfortable too. Square is out to lunch, yet Enix has been a rock solid game standard on the DS to date with anything of the DQ franchise universe.
