Yep, I believe you could do that in Dragon Warrior III on the GBC. Pretty cool! :D

Downloadble quests? and a online shop? I just found out about the hotel thing today, DF2506, now this! Thats great!!
BTW, to anyone who lives in NY, are you going to the launch event at Nintendo World?

hotel thing? What's that?

Nintendo Week (on the Nintendo Channel) was all about Dragon Quest 9 this week! They showed character customization (looks great), some turn-based battles (one with a knight looked especially fun), and the recruiting feature (getting people for your party).

Next week, they are supposed to show local multiplayer for Dragon Quest 9!

The game looked great on the video. They were playing it on the DS XL and it looked great! Not too much longer till it comes out. :)

DF2506 - The hotel thing is the main multiplayer "hub" of DQIX. It's also where the guests you acquire in Tag mode show up (I think).

Exactly.

I hope it sells very well so it doesn't become stupidly rare and expensive like Dragon Quest 5 so I can actually get it years after its release.

This. :D

I want it, but not anytime soon. Again, way too many awesome games coming out that I want to buy. They should stick to 2 releases a year. :3

I have a $30 preorder on it, so I'm kinda forced to get it day one.

I've been looking forward to getting this for a while. Is it true that this will be a dual cartridge game?

No, its not a dual cart game. It is a VERY long game though!

I got the Dragon Quest 9 guide yesterday! :)

DQ9 looks really awesome. The main quest looks lengthy, there's tons of sidequests, random treasure maps, an amazing amount of cool equipment to find, the multiplayer looks great (can't wait to play it), and the graphics look very good.

Very excited about the game. Somebody I know is getting the game on Sunday; I'm getting the game sometime next week (ordered it online). Can't wait to play it!

This looks great. But an important question is whether you can really enjoy the game even if you can't do the sleepmode connecting with other DSs thingy... because I never take my DSi with me when I go to the mall or so and even if I did I doubt there are any people who do the same with the game...

Probably getting a Vita with LBP soon...

After reading Nintendo Power's review on it, the reviewer stated that you could ignore the multiplayer stuff if you felt like it. I've never really been a big non-Pokémon RPG fan (mostly because I haven't gotten into any of them), but I'm getting it on launch day (or the day after that) and I don't know anyone else getting it, so if you remind me I'll give you my impressions of the single-player campaign.

Well there still are almost two weeks till the Europe release so I think I'll read a bit of the American's impressions before preordering it.

Probably getting a Vita with LBP soon...

Fair enough. Just so you know, GameRankings.com shows that there are 7 reviews of DQIX, 5 of which are online. You may want to check them out to help you better decide.
