Topic: Does anyone actually like the name Bird & Beans?

It's such a horrible name. I'm embarrassed to even say it out loud. Renaming Aquario/Azurio/Aquite/Aquia was dumb, but at least those are all decent names.

They changed the name because, for whatever reason, they assumed Bird & Beans would sound better to an American audience than Pyoro would. So...does anyone out there actually LIKE the new title?

Do you have something against beans? Because obviously you are a fan of birds.

(And though I haven't played it, yes, the title sounds awful and would probably be enough to make me not want to buy it if I got a DSi.)

Come on, friends,

Birds & Beans fits the concept of the game very well to say the least. But I have to agree the name is unattractive and sounds sorta kiddy.

Then again Chicken Brutus we`ve seen this before with Beer Pong`s name being changed to our beloved Pong Toss(FYI that was sarcasm).

Personally I'm against anything that's considered 'kiddie', so I really hate the name.

You shouldn't have done that.

It definitely does fit the concept of the game, but man, who decided on this new name? They should have renamed Super Mario Bros. as Human & Pipes. Sonic could have been Rodent & Rings. Zelda could have been Elf & Tunic.

Maybe they should have gone the Art Style route and called it Pyzurio.

Hey at least you got Dr. Mario Express, not 'A Little Bit of... Dr. Mario' - I mean WTF!

I didn't even realize that was the EU title. Ugh...that's horrible!

Somebody at Nintendo needs to get a new hobby and stop renaming games for no reason. It makes sense if the title is going to stand poorly in another region (a British game about a hero who smokes too much probably shouldn't be called Fag Master when it comes to America) but 9 out of 10 times the new name is crappy. Leave it alone!

Or for Mario, Human & Shrooms lol
but I totally agree with you on the whole “bad name” situation all in all.
Then again theres a lot of games with bad names out there not only from Nintendo

I totally think Bird & Beans is a stupid name. Why not just call it Pyoro?

Tomena Sanner: Because dancing businessmen are awesome.

I am not crazy about the name either, but at least the game play is still fun and addictive. I just call it Pyoro anyway

I am still wondering why they changed the name of Decode to CODE. Decode sounds so much cooler!

I like the name - the bird eats the beans...

Hardcore, casual = marketing. The real divide is between arcade and narrative games.

Stuffgamer1

Not I. Pyoro was a MUCH better title, imo.

Keep in mind this is also the Japanese name too so it wasn't changed specifically for us or anything. I'm not really bothered by the change though. It may have been to help non-gamer types to remember it better then trying to figure out what a Pyoro was.

Philip_J_Reed

I didn't know that, WarioFan. I thought it was Pyoro everywhere else...thanks for correcting me.

I still can't wait for Elf & Tunic: Spirit Tracks.

you ain't the only one learning things today. i did not know that either.

I can't say I like Tori to Mame/Bird and Beans as a name... Pyoro is such a cute name by itself. I wonder if we'll see more games outside the Wario minigame-series featuring Pyoro as a character?

Pyoro is a parody of a Japanese candy mascot named Kyorochan. It had it's own anime series back in '99-'00.

I thought it was a cheeky pun. You know the term 'Birds and Bees'? (Reproductive system baby).

I think they should have at least named it Bird & Turnips. Those do not look like beans.
