Topic: Do you have a DSi?

I've been hanging on to my original DS for a while and didn't really see the need for a DSi. I'm not much for taking pictures but the DSi shop is starting to intrest me. At first most of the games available on the shop didn't sound too thrilling. Now I'm starting to take notice and am considering getting one. If the 3DS is going to have access to the DSi shop I should probably wait though. Has there been any word on this?

Rumor is 3DS will have DSiWare available as well as 3DSWare. Don't bother with a DSi if you're planning to get a 3DS, chances are incredibly slim to non-existant that Nintendo will offer a transfer solution. So sad, sykotek is so sad.

Okay I'll probably just wait for 3DS then.

If you can hold out for the 3DS then do so. The DSi is a big improvement on the DS Lite but the 3DS is looking just incredible.

No. I still have a DS Lite and I wanted a DSi but then the DSiXL was announced so I waited for that but then the 3DS was announced so im gonna wait for that.

Coming from someone who's owned two DS lites and an 'i, wait for the 3DS. Even it's still on 3DS, at the moment DSiWare isn't worth it.

This. While there are a very small handful of good games on the DSi Ware, the majority of the stuff that's worth the money are small cheap games that you only buy because of how cheap they are, or how convenient it would be to have them on the go. I'm actually regretting my DSi purchase now that we've seen what the 3DS is.

If DSi Ware games are available on the 3DS then I will probably trade my DSi towards the 3DS and re-buy half a dozen of the better DSi Ware games.
Wish they would just let you transfer them though. Although this will be a much bigger problem when the sequel to the wii comes out. I will be very loathed to re buy 50 vc & Wii Ware games.

Well if you're just getting for Dsiware then wait. For me, I was already looking for a second DS, an .mp3 (or .m4a i guess) and a camera to play around with. It was well worth it even without those though.

Yes I do. You have wifi right? A DSi is NOT worth getting if you dont have wifi. I am totally obsessed with lots of the DSiWare games. My only warning is that the L and R buttons break easily.

Yeah I do and its 100x better than a Lite... as long as you have wifi, of course.

I dunno if its been confirmed or not that DSiWare is coming to 3DS so... I dunno what to say. Cuz there are some GREAT games on DSiWare (Aura-Aura Climber, X-Scape, Starship Defense, Thorium Wars just to name a few.)

Yeah I have a DSi and I love it. I think it's best version of the DS thus far.

Agreed. I've heard a lot about them breaking and a lot of times I hear "Does this game need the shoulder buttons?" a lot. Not only that, but my own R button broke a while ago (although I sent it to Nintendo to fix).

I think you should wait for the 3DS, which promises to do everything the DSi did and more. Besides, as others pointed out, DSiWare might not be transferable, which would make me sad.

I'm pretty okay.

I love my DSi, because every now and then there is a decent DSiWare game that is actually worth getting. I kind of wish I waited for the DSi XL, though. I was playing Mega Man Zero Collection yesterday and I was getting a REALLY bad hand cramp. I feel that if my hand was holding onto a bigger handheld, maybe it wouldn't happen.

I had the original, and had no plans of changing, until it broke. In half.

So I saved up for a DSi, and got black about a month before they announced the white color, which I would have rather gotten.

But yeah, wait for the 3DS if you are patient. I mean, come on, it's coming out next year! I'm actually mad, because I just bought my DSi last year, and don't like changing so fast...

I'm not sure if there is any DSiWare worth justifying a $100-something purchase though. I really can't think of anything that is out right now that's really great. Shantae might change that though...

I have a DSi, in addition to the DS Lite and original "DS Phat." Too bad it looks primative compared to the 3DS. But hey, all old systems look primative compared to their successors!
