Alright, I recently got this game, and I can't believe how ridiculously hard it is for me...I'm stuck on Novice puzzle 24! Are there any tips from you guys that I can utilize? Or am I just hopeless?...
Oh, and please don't suggest auto-solve or tell me exactly what to do, I don't like cheating!
I'm just looking for some general tips about the game, because right now the difficulty is really hurting my experience with it...

I'm working on a game that's coming out soon!

Actually auto-solve doesn't seem to tell you the gold medal finish, so it's not cheating. I'll go back to it and see if any hints.

Alright, the gold medal is 12 moves. It takes a minimum of 10 moves to paint everything:

  • Red - Columns 2,3,4
  • Yellow - Rows 1,3,5
  • Blue - Rows 2,3,4 + Column 5

[Spoilers] If you do this --and then look at the top screen to see which tiles have too much paint-- you'll see the two extra moves to erase are:

  • Column 3 (yellow)
  • Row 1 (red and blue)
[Technically, at first I just see that I have to erase co-ordinates (1,3), (3,3) and (1,5) using my two moves. And the above is the most efficient way.]

So start over and put down the paint you have to erase first, then erase it. Then take the next logical step. Do you need more details on what to do or what order? You have to be patient and use trial and error and then work backwards with logic. You're not going to be able to get it right on your first attempt. Also, I don't like memorizing colours, so I use colourblind mode. And the undo button is excellent. And it gets much harder later on >.<

@jdarrell, bleachfan: actually, this is one of the few puzzles you can't use the auto solve feature on, so the point is moot. :3

i would say the one important thing about this game to remember is the 'undo' button. trial and error is your friend. 24 took me a while to get through myself, but i medaled it once i'd finished messing around with different configurations. if you get frustrated, try playing some random stages; the practice might help you to be able to look at the set puzzles through fresh eyes.

Phew! I was able to finish it! Btw jdarrell I was looking for some general tips, not specifically how to do it... >.<
Thanks anyway, though! You did give me some!
Also, I've been working at some of the other ones as well (I just got to the 10x10 ones... O.o) And I'm figuing 'em out! ...However, I only seem to have breakthroughs during short periods of playing. In other words, I lose my edge if I play to long...

I'm working on a game that's coming out soon!
